Before using any piece of outdoor electrical equipment, inspect it firs...t before plugging it in. Check for frayed cords, cracked housings, and worn-out switches. 3. Be safe with electric mowers and tools outside: get the proper extension cord first (outdoor type & rated for powering your equipment) and don’t use them in wet areas or on wet grass. 4. Exercise care when trimming trees and hedges that are higher up. Hidden electrical wires or Christmas lights left up can pose a hazard. 5. Gone to fly a kite? Public parks are the best place.
