Alittle late of a post. But what a blast we had at the last PA Day skate on Friday. Great healthy mix of hard work and fun!! First hour we did a lot of motivating(fight threw this one hour etc etc lol) , edge work and some skating drills that during a practice just don’t have time to do. Second hour lots of stick handling shooting and passing drills. (Got the orange pucks out for stick handling drills) 3rd hour we did a 10/15min condition skate, goalie race!! Haha and so...me small area games so everyone was on the ice. then went into a full ice game for the last half. Great time thanks for all the kids really putting in the work and for the parents supporting Kh hockey.....It is so appreciated. ATTENTION!! For tomorrows skate in Scugog we will be walking in at 8:45am on Pad 1 fully dressed other then skates gloves and helmet and with a mask. I plan on staying at the skate park (pad2) till around 1:30 so pack a scooter if you want for after our skate. Also I have one last minute opening if anyone is interested for tomorrow’s PA Day Camp. ***update: that was fast!! only 2 spots left *** Hey everyone. Im running a PA-Day camp Friday Nov 13 from 9-12 at the Scugog rink I’ll be sticking around till 1:30 scootering and goofing around. So if a late pick up is needed pack your kids scooter and throw it in the back of my truck at the rink! I’ll be at the rink from at least. (8:30-1:30) Cost is $100. Below is the break down of the 3hrs. ... I love full day camps as I’m not rushed for time to teach/break down individual skills. Most drills will be designed drills that would not be used in a hockey practice atmosphere. Example our fall down recovery drill, stride development, taking the time to break down a shot etc etc. First hour we will work on pure skating and balance no pucks and we can take our time breaking down our edges, lengthen stride, quick starts fwd&backwards, tight turns, cross overs fwd and backwards. Along with a back wards skate etc etc. Hour 2 - all pucks. Lots of Shooting , stick handling passing , puck protection etc etc. Hour 3. - work on our conditioning for 10-15 minutes and then we will reward them with some fun games. FYI Spots are really limited due to the fact that Scugog rink only allows 50 in the rink total including their staff , my hockey school and other ice rentals. Great work last night insane amount of shots!!. We Did a quick technical skate at the beginning. Then broke up into 3 stations. We had 4 instructors out last night and triple the amount of pucks so no time was wasted.. We explained and broke down a shot... talked about : weight transfer is key, blade placement , hand placement, grip strength, stick and feet pointing at the target at the end of the shot. Etc etc ! Video below: Perfect timing for Auzzy to test out his ne...w twigs in a 3 shot drill. First pass (which I missed in the vid) goes between his legs and he tracks it down and shoots strong side, second shot is weak side back hand and 3rd is the one timer and you can hear Marcus directing Auzzy to open up his stance. !! We do have a PA day camp scheduled for NOV 13th up in port Perry this time ! I’ll post it once I confirm allowable #’s to attend. I believe they shortened it so it will be a smaller camp. Elvis is pretty stoked we have ice booked for Tuesday nov 3rd at delpark/legends @ 4:45. $45. Let me know if your interested. Elvis wants us to work on balance , pivots and edges to start the practice. Then we are going to break down their shot: weight transfer, skates , high and low shots and aiming etc. We will have 3 stations set up all of them shooting drills!! Had a blast tonight! We Did some edge work(vid below) , pivots and a burst of speed drill to start off the development skate. Then we got the pucks out to work on our hands and a new drill with a pivot, burst of speed & shoulder drop to beat the defender! (I’ll get a video of it next week). Lastly played a little game to end a hard skate! Great focus and job by everyone!! It was a great mix of hard work and fun!! Our Boy Barks gets it! I do wish someParents would try and enjoy it more as Goodrow is right it does go by quick! My team made some seriously awesome life memories last yr. The Oshawa tourny O/T exciting win & the whole tourny was so much fun and we were luckily enough to go to lake placid on the 40th anniversary of the Olympic gold medal win (team skiing , team events, the historic village, team dinners, parties it was truly team togetherness oh &) we really just e...njoyed the moments. It’s a shame about this covid year as we came out of last year a real close knit team and excited to have an even more fun year!! NExt year we will have to make double awesome memories !! Another great skate last night ! We Worked on stickhandling with the heavy pucks and did a new drill to widen our hockey skating stride to mimic mcdavid, barzel , Crosby etc skating style. Had a great skate yesterday!! We worked on back-wards acceleration & one of our favourites (5steps) Burst of speed forwards!! We got out the brand new heavy pucks again for 2 drills. One of my favourite parts of running the hockey school. Pierson and I gets to stay connected and introduce his warrior family to his former hockey family the wildcats. & over the past few years theyve all became friends....off the ice and at the development camps only. This just in! We have added an all girl's skate on Monday the 21st 4:45@ Delpark in Oshawa! Cost is $45. The age group for this skate will be 12-15 years old. Spots will definitely fill fast so sign up asap! This will be a regular thing as well so keep an eye on here for more skates to come!

Another great skate last night! I love this drill it combined everything we worked on earlier. Explosive speed, pivots , balance, backwards skating and it ends with a shot on net. Follow our new insta as we will post favourite drills, camp pics and for our future Camp Dates!! @kh_hockeyacademy

Awesome work Ethic!! We love running drills were the whole camp is going at once. Zero down time!

Since the Tuesday skate sold out the same day We posted it. We have booked more ice. Wednesday 19th and 26th 3pm at delpark/legends. $40 per skate. Camp favourite Marcus Mcivor will be helping out at this skate aswell.

We had a Great first skate!! Here is a little warm up drill I love because the whole camp is going at once. No one is sitting around waiting for their turn. Lots of puck touches in this 6/7 minute passing drill.

Insane pumped to announce we are finally back on the ice. We have an hour booked at delpark (legends) 3pm. This Tuesday the 11th,18th and 25th. $40 per skate. As always we will work them hard and like always we find we get the most out of the kids when it’s a fun manner and being very postive. ****As of right now we are 60% sold out !! *** Stoked our O/G Kh family member and camp favourite Marcus McIvor will be around this summer to help out before he goes off to his pro camps! It's always good to just get out and fool around with some pucks! Try different things, get out of your comfort zone like I did here. I have rock hands and I usually don't try and get fancy like this but it is helping me improve! Get out and have some fun boys and girls. #beready
