The UAB is made up of ALL student-athletes at the University of Alberta and represents the varsity athlete community In addition to representing and advocating for student-athletes, the UAB also creates opportunities for Golden Bears & Pandas to give back to the community... Through non-profit organizations just like us! What does this mean for KidSport Edmonton? We are proud to welcome the University of Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas athlete community onto our team! All Golden Bears & Pandas athletes are now honourary KidSport Ambassadors! We created this partnership to promote participation in, and equal access to, organized sport. Student-athletes are shining examples of how sports play a pivotal role in youth development, and teach important life skills. By teaming up with the UAB, we'll be able to showcase the incredible things Golden Bears & Pandas do for our community, and have student-athletes use their platforms to spread awareness about KidSport programming - So ALL Kids Can Play! Introducing one of our December #KidSport25 ambassador, Dylan! Dylan is 13-years-old and plays basketball, sogo adventure/trail running, bowling, yoga, swimming, capoeira and skiing. Some of Dylan's sports have been a part of the Calgary Special Olympics.

Alberta Health Services put new measures in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Effective November 13 until November 27, the new measures ban indoor team sports. However, outdoor sports and indoor individual sports are currently still permitted, although some organizations have also decided to pause their indoor individual sports. If you are looking to keep your kids active in sport, please see this list of outdoor sports that KidSport funds.
