Today, in an effort to proactively slow the spread of COVID-19, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney has announced there will be mandated immediate cancellation of all K-12 and post-secondary classes and the closure of licensed child care programs in the province until further notice. . . I want our Kids Quest families to know that we recognize the significant impact this closure will have on our entire community, students, families, and on our staff. We acknowledge the worry this m...ay cause, and we want to assure you that we are committed to making the best decision for all of our valued families and staff going forward ~ . . Our job is to provide quality instruction to our students in a safe and healthy environment, and although we are no longer able to provide quality instruction on site, we will be continuing to provide value to our families by implementing virtual curriculum for all our students. As this is an ongoing and rapidly changing situation, we will start by providing virtual curriculum and educational resources for the remainder of March, and assess the long term plan in regards to our programming moving forward ~ . . Please understand that these delivery methods for instruction will be new to students and staff and we are learning and growing with these changes and appreciate your patience with us. With your help, and the guidance and round-the-clock commitment of our staff, the goal is to make these unforeseen circumstances academically valuable to your kiddos. Virtual curriculum for the remainder of March will be sent out to families over the next few days via email and will include step by step activities, learning resources, craft ideas, phonics, and core learning materials for your kiddos. Our staff is working diligently to create video lessons to be sent out to families and we will be implementing personal skype/facetime calls to every one of our kiddos to keep them immersed. Please let us know who would be willing to opt in for this. More details of this will be provided as we continue to develop our action plan.
