Students enjoy their favourite #outdoorplay activities in the warmer spring weather: climbing trees, working on forts, observing the creek, and hanging out on the slack line and in the #forestplayground KIND Forest School is open during the Spring Break next week as our preschool and #forestschool programs continue. Our plans for a larger day camp program will have to wait, given the current Ontario restrictions. We hope to host another Open House with information on summer day camps once the restrictions are lifted again. In the meantime, inquiries are welcome by email to [email protected]

WE ARE GROWING Looking for the right teacher to join our team Children develop problem-solving skills, co-operation, self-esteem, and knowledge, through playing in nature. So happy to see this burned trailer leave the yard! Such a sad thing to happen but now we don’t have to keep looking at it and smelling it.
KIND families, We now have volunteer positions available! If you can spare some time and wish to volunteer with us we offer "in-kind" credit towards your invoice. A criminal record check is required to work with children but there are opportunities for weekend or evening cleaning work or virtually for certain skills. Message for more info.
I think I am like the second teacher, and I want my children to learn from that
This week's #forestschool #outdooradventures led us to discover our section of Chippewa Creek is frozen solid enough to walk, crawl, jump and slide on! We observed the way rocks in the creek bed affected the way the water froze, saw plants and animal tracks trapped in the ice, and listened to bubbling water flowing swiftly underneath us. The students were so thrilled by the frozen creek that they spent most of their outdoor time on the ice. Thanks, winter!
We're looking forward to seeing some new faces during the first week of Christmas break, when our school hosts a day camp. Limited space available; please register by December 17.
Today we found our yard filled with snow! We were very excited about that and spent most of the day outside: making snow blocks for our fort walls, practicing Christmas dances, decorating the yard Christmas tree (pictured here with nature's snowy decorations) and seeing what happens when you throw snow up in the air. We also learned that when you leave the snow blocks in the sun... they melt!
Yesterday may not have had the nicest of whether, but today we found out that our yard had been filled with snow! We were very excited about that. We spent most of the day outside, making some snow blocks for our snow fort, practicing Christmas dances and seeing what happens when you throw snow up in the air and when you leave the snow blocks in the sun.
Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday for our community fundraiser. We'll be continuing to collect donations for the North Bay Food Bank and Santa Fund throughout this week.
Join us this Saturday between 10am and 3pm for our Train Day community fundraiser! Bring non-perishable food items for the North Bay Food Bank or a monetary donation for the North Bay Santa Fund, and we'll hand you a set of five train cars to play on the huge train track set up in our downstairs preschool room. Our yard and forest will also be open for visitors to play in. Feel free to message us with any questions. We hope to see lots of you on Saturday!
