What we’ve always been about: upcycling vintage components is the way I’ve been designing @frugjewellery for 2 decades been using the same plastic baggies for jewellery and storage materials in the shop for 10-20 years. We hate throwing stuff out here.... repack all shipments in old boxes - have never bought a new shipping box in 20 years - it ain’t pretty but it’s what inside that counts reuse packing materials like styrofoam popcorn & old paper when shipping make our stuff domestically and carry as much domestic product as we can recycle in all the obvious ways in the shop - going paperless & using recycled paper to print when we have to print, using vintage display units, upcycling window displays, smart lighting, paper vs plastic bags etc etc some of us don’t eat meat and others of us are mindful of how much meat we consume believe in a shop with a tiny footprint - I have a wee shop and that means wee consumption - I like that Listen, there’s always more we can do. And I think we’ve learned that it’s more important now than ever. I’ve felt connected to everyone and every thing in these past 13 months and I’m here for the long haul. Let’s make sure Mother Earth is as well . Happy Earth Day!

I live by this - and I’d like to thank you guys for your daily DMS etc. I stole this from @omm_mama who sends me about 800 emojis a day . Frankly, I don’t know how she gets any work done, but I appreciate it . Without these interactions, it would have been pretty lonely around here during lockdown. So thank you for every Like, Comment and DM. As for me, I will continue to do my best to gas you up Ottawa. You deserve it.

Sometimes I have customers asking why we are also called a studio. Behind the secret door in the back of the shop is where all sorts of magic happens. @frugjewellery @ @tamarasteinborn are both designed and made there. I also often get the question - what’s a @frugjewellery? It’s a line of jewellery I’ve been designing and selling to over 100 Canada wide boutiques for over 20 years.
