A good way to explain move ups through your BMX career... *copied* got this off someone else's page but really hits home with my little guy. Hope there are other riders and parents that read this and can change their out look on this sport and see the challenges and the fun that is in BMX I saw a lot of awesome wins this year!!! But I also saw a lot of long faces. Talked to a lot of disappointed parents. I saw kids who typically crush their motos not even make it to semis....Continue reading

We appreciate that not everyone can be available to volunteer, and we appreciate those who could lend a hand when they could... But we've had some peeps who have been rock solid volunteers this year, asking to 'just leave my name on the sign up sheet...I'll be there' and we thanked them at last week's race, but they deserve another shout out here... So thanks to: Shaun W. (Announcing), Stacie G.(corner#2), Ricki S.(corner #1), Jamie M.(gate), Teresa L. (Scoring), Amelia L.(scoring), Kaitlyn (staging), Tammy M.(staging), Addyson M. (Intro to BMX), Sierra P. (Balance Bikes) and Christina A. (Filling in where we needed her)

Kingston BMX 21.06.2020

One day this won’t be your life anymore. And when it’s not, you won’t remember the things that you’d think. You’ll have no idea how many races you won. You won’t know how many t bones you had. You won’t be impressed with how many trophies you won. For the most part, you won’t remember the wins or the losses at all.... After your last race has come and gone, you’re going to remember the times when you wanted to quit but didn’t. You’re going to remember the teammates (and families) you loved along the way. You’re going to remember racing in the coldest dirt filled arenas , the ones with the best concession stands and the ones with the worst. You’re going to remember the hotel bonding, shenanigans in the hallways and hanging out in the lobby after practices. You’re going to remember the early morning warm ups and the late night races. You’re going to remember the coaches and team mates that never gave up on you. But most of all, you’re going to remember the sheer happiness that came only from riding your bike with your friends. You’re going to remember the moments you did more than you ever believed you could. You’re going to remember the times you used every ounce of talent God gave you. One day this won’t be your life anymore. So for today, ride as fast as your legs will let you. For today, jump as far and high as you can. Whether it’s a a double or a triple. Commit to every moment and give it everything you have. For today, take every lap like it’s the last chance you’ll ever get. For today, ride because you want to. Ride because you need to. Ride because the little kid you are fell in love with this sport. For today, ride with all of your heart and leave it all out on the track. One day, this won’t be your life anymore. When that day comes, make sure you wouldn’t change a thing. Author Unknown See more

Kingston BMX 22.04.2020

We have a great core set of Volunteers and we are so THANKFUL for them. We have had a few people ask how they can help and they signed up to help us make our races happen this weekend. If you are going to be at the track and would like to assist us, during your rider's block race, we still need some corner marshall's and some spotters. Take a look, the timeslots reflect the block racing and you can sign up for as many times as you wish. THANKS in advance for helping us out - we couldn't have races without our Volunteers!! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090F4CACAD28A4F49-volunteer

***PLEASE READ CAREFULLY** With the recent social distancing announcements by the Government of Ontario on Sat. Sept. 19, the following will be required to ensure KBMX can continue to offer racing and practices. We do not want ‘one bad apple’ not following the rules to ruin this privilege for all, so please follow the rules. Along with the guidelines you have signed off on, when registering for practice and/or racing, we want to highlight these ones in particular and we have... added some to ensure we are ‘contact tracing’ to the best of our abilities: 1. All riders will need to CHECK IN upon arrival to the track and their attendance will be documented, along with their parent/guardian, if applicable. 2. THERE ARE NO SPECTATORS ALLOWED AT THIS TIME no grandparents, aunts/uncles, friends, even siblings should not be at the track. 3. Riders under 18 years of age are permitted to have ONE PARENT/GUARDIAN (not friends/rides) who will also need to sign in upon arrival 4. ONLY RIDERS & VOLUNTEERS ALLOWED WITHIN THE FENCED IN AREA We have capable volunteers who are able to assist your rider if they are struggling in the gate, on the track or there is a a first aid requirement so please remain outside the fenced in area. 5. MASKS WILL BE WORN WITHIN THE TRACK AREA (fenced in) and we encourage all to wear masks when at the track All Volunteers will be required to wear masks. 6. SOCIAL DISTANCING will need to be followed within the stands, around the outside area of the track Please note: IF ANYONE IS NOT FOLLOWING THE ABOVE, THEY WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE **NO RACING AND NO REFUNDS** We all want to continue to enjoy the sport of BMX during this precarious time, so please follow the rules set out above. Thank You Your KBMX Executive

A message from BMX Canada regarding the Ontario Provincial BMX Series: Attention Ontario Riders: As the closures and restrictions continue to affect tracks in Ontario and an ever changing date of resuming operation we wanted to let you know the 2020 Provincial Series will be cancelled.... While it's unfortunate we will not have the series in 2020, the health, safety and welfare of our tracks, riders, and their families remains paramount. Unfortunately, we understand the frustration of the lack of a provincial series. While we cannot offer the ability for out-of-province riders to be eligible for provincial standing within another province, the races are always open to all riders for district points. Riders' 2019 Provincial earned number will be able to be ran in 2021. We understand that some riders may be looking for an alternate method to qualify for the Race Of Champions this November in Tulsa, OK. With Provinces having riders affected by tracks not able to host a Provincial race we have modified Rule 20, bullet point 4 for the 2020 season. For riders in provinces who do not have a Provincial Championship Final in their Province, we will expand the Alternate Eligibility to include the Top 10 riders in each age and proficiency based on district points earned for races held through October 1st, 2020. Stay tuned to bmxcanda.org for the latest schedule changes. The health, safety and welfare of our tracks, riders, their families remains paramount, and we will keep our race community apprised of all further developments. http://www.bmxcanada.org
