The snow is melting, the birds are coming back and some brave souls are already rocking the shorts & sandals; spring is (almost) upon us! While we're happy to see the end of the snow, spring brings with it it's own annoyance; bugs. Now is the perfect time to check your screen doors and windows for damage, before they start getting into your homes. If you have a screen that needs repair, we are standing by ready to help. We can replace screens of all shapes and sizes, and hav...e standard fiberglass, metal, and pet-resistant options for you to choose from. Bring your old screen by and we will take care of the rest! Spring is officially here, and that means warmer weather and, of course, lots more rain! Luckily, we have everything you need to prepare for the upcoming season; from downspout extenders to splash guards, we have it all! We have a variety of colours and styles, and would be more than happy to help you pick out the best product for you.

We are very excited to welcome you back into the store! In compliance with the rules set out by the Government of Ontario, and to make sure we are doing everything we can to keep our community safe, we will be limiting the amount of customers in our store to 10 people at a time. Sanitizer will be available at the entrance/exit, as well as at the cash, and we will still be offering curbside services for anyone who would prefer to be served remotely. Earlier today, Durham Region Council issued a notice that, starting July 10th, 2020, everyone must where masks when at public locations indoors. This means that starting this Friday, we will be asking all of our customers to follow this new rule and please wear a mask when you come to visit us. As many of you may have heard, Health Canada has recently recalled a number of hand sanitizers. The Hand Sanitizer we carry, Germs Be Gone!, has not been recalled, and is a Health Canada approved product. The easiest way to tell whether your hand sanitizer has been approved by Health Canada is to check whether it has an NPN or DIN number on the label. You can see the NPN number of 80021511 in the bottom right corner on the back of the Germs Be Gone! label, however other produ...cts may place theirs in different locations. Any product that has one of these numbers has been approved by Health Canada, and you can find more information about them on Health Canada's website. https://www.canada.ca//disin/covid-19/hand-sanitizer.html. Simply search the NPN or DIN number, and you will be able to find your sanitizer. The main issue seems to be sanitizers that use Ethyl Acetate as their active ingredient; while this ingredient appears to be just as effective at killing germs as Ethyl Alcohol/Ethanol, it may also cause some skin irritation as it was designed for industrial use.
