Spring is approaching and the weather is warming up next week, yay! However, be aware that with the warmer weather also comes Blacklegged ticks. At 4C ticks start looking for a bloodmeal, and these tiny guys are hungry. They are responsible for spreading Lyme disease, as well as Anaplasma and Ehrlichia, and we are seeing the number of infections going up every year. We have tick prevention available for your dog (and cat!), give us a call! 519-696-2120 #yourvetknowsticks #betickaware

Let's play spot the tick! Can you see the tick in the first photo? What about the second? Ticks are tiny when not engorged - roughly the size of a sesame seed. These nasty critters can carry all sorts of diseases like Lyme disease. Call us about getting your dog on tick prevention!
Did you guess correctly? Tia had 9 puppies via c-section last Saturday! Mom and babies did fantastic during and after surgery! Great job Tia (and great job Dr. Jen for performing the c-section!)
Puppy count time! This is Tia's puppy xray. She had a c-section this morning and her and her babies are all doing fantastic. Any guesses as to how many puppies she had?? We'll reveal the answer in the next few days!

What better way to start a Saturday than with a box full of Frenchie puppies? These cuties are Cinnamon's puppies, who we met for the first time 7 weeks ago during her c-section! They came in for their first check-up and first vaccines with Dr. Jen.
Did you catch Dr. Jen on CTV Kitchener last night? She was asked to be interviewed for a piece on the surge of pet adoptions during COVID-19. You can watch the clip below! If you have questions about adopting a new family member or want to book an appointment for a new adoption, give us a call! https://kitchener.ctvnews.ca/video
Happy World Veterinary Day! World Veterinary Day is observed globally to recognise the contributions of veternarians in the field of healthcare and medical science. Thank you Dr. Jen and Dr. Chris for all that you do to keep our fur babies happy and healthy!!
I need your HELP! Today my cat managed to escape during a fire at the building; she peed in her cage and I stupidly took her out for a second. Last seen aroun...d College st. Kitchener, please text me at 5196167599 if you spot her. Please don't approach as she is quite shy, though she may be lured with food indoors. Her name is Edie, AKA Special Fluff, though it is likely she won't respond if called to as she is most likely scared Please share!
We thought this x-ray was just too amazing to not share. This goofy puppy decided he did not like his owner's new landscaping, and the only way he could think of to remove the new pea gravel was to try and eat as much of it as possible! Needless to say, he needed surgery, and we removed 4.4 lbs of gravel from his stomach :)
