Our Utilities Team will be conducting annual system flushing on the Terrace Rural Water System on April 28th and 29th. This procedure is necessary to remove any sediment that may be present in the water mains and to ensure the best possible water quality is maintained. During this procedure, water pressures may fluctuate, and water may appear coloured or cloudy. You are advised to run your water until it clears. In the early evening of Wednesday, April 14, a washout occurred on Telegraph Creek Road (Highway 51) between Dease Lake and the community of Telegraph Creek. The road is closed with no detour, isolating the community of Telegraph Creek. No injuries have been reported. Initial reports indicate that the washout was caused by a release from a lake above the road due to the heavy snow melt occurring in the area. The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is assessing the s...ite to make recommendations for repair. Updates can be found on DriveBC.

Our Utilities Team will be conducting annual system flushing on the Thornhill Community Water System April 12th through 27th. To aid in the flushing process crews will be adding a small dose of chlorine to the system reservoir. There may be residual chlorine for the duration of flushing. This procedure is necessary to remove any sediment that may be present in the water mains and to ensure the best possible water quality is maintained. During this procedure, water pressures may fluctuate, and water may appear coloured or cloudy. You are advised to run your water until it clears. Your ongoing co-operation and understanding is appreciated. Learn more about our water systems on our website: www.rdks.bc.ca

ARE YOUR TRASH CANS COMPLIANT? For the safety of our drivers and the cleanliness of your neighborhood, we require all garbage to be bagged in a can with a secure fitting lid. Garbage put out without a can or lid is an attractant to dogs, birds, and other wildlife.
