SISTER MERLIN AND THE HEROES OF FAITH (20 Years of Atascadero) Twenty years ago today, two months before the turning of the millennium, we lost one of the pill...ars of the Kingdom’s Music Ministry, Sister Merlin Dandan. Merlin, Sister Tessie Dandan’s younger sister, was one of the 7 heroes of faith who perished in a tragic car accident in Atascadero, San Luis Obispo County, California in the late night of October 21, 1999. Sister Merlin used to be the Kingdom Choir’s worship leader and lead vocalist. It was her long-held dream to see the formation of the Kingdom’s very own orchestra. This was one of the most trying and challenging times in the Kingdom’s work in the United States. The Almighty Father revealed to our Beloved Pastor on September 26, 2000 that the Atascadero accident was part of the series of attacks by the enemy to hinder the expanding works of the Almighty Father in America. It was such a traumatic experience for us, and most especially for our Beloved Pastor having had to conduct funeral service night after night for the seven who have died in the crash. It was being put in Job’s situation when you are told of the news of your own people’s death. After Atascadero, our Beloved Pastor, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy was at the bottom of emotional distress. It was indeed a spiritual battle that one time, he saw himself in a vision in the midst of an intense duel with Satan Lucifer the devil. They were fencing in the clouds. In this match, our Beloved Pastor even heard Satan’s laughter. When Pastor Apollo went to the Prayer Mountain, he was sitting at the prayer gazebo near the White House, and everything around was gloomy and gray, until he heard the (Almighty) Father’s voice, Kinsay nagsulti na wala ta ka gihigugma? (Who told you that I don’t love you?) Suddenly there were colors all around. The Almighty Father’s voice was his comfort and it was an affirmation of His Love. Sometimes, when life’s greatest trials hit you hard, and when everything around seems to be dark and gloomy, all it takes is the Almighty Father’s still small voice telling you that He loves you still. And everything will be back to its color. Everything will be alright. After that devastating episode in our life, the Kingdom Nation never stopped growing and expanding in the United States from 1999 onwards. Sister Tessie Dandan took over the Kingdom works in America from 1999 to 2009. It was 10 fruitful years of unprecedented harvests left and right. Kingdom Light Colonies were established in America’s major cities. Kingdom worship compounds were acquired, and this paved the way for the further enlightenment and harvest of more souls in the world’s most powerful nation. Today, we remember the life of Sister Merlin Dandan and the heroes of faith who had passed on 20 years ago. They are no longer here bodily, but in the spirit, they rejoice and celebrate with us for the countless triumphs and victories wrought upon the Kingdom Nation’s ever expanding works in the United States and all over the world. We remember that before every victory, there’s a battle to fight; before every sunrise, one must live through the night. Along the battle, there may be casualties, there may be big-time heartaches that we need to endure, but for always, for the Father’s sons and daughters, as it has always been for the Appointed Son of God, victory is in our hands.
