Saturday April 13, 2019- THE ENNIS SISTERS With multiple accoladesa Juno Award, SOCAN Award, multiple East Coast Music Awards, and Music Newfoundland and Labrador AwardsThe Ennis Sisters, comprised of Maureen, Teresa and Karen Ennis, are world renowned, celebrated songbirds. This summer they will be touring songs from their 2018 release Keeping Time. This concept album, produced by internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter/musician/author/actor, Alan Doyle, is about our most precious gift of time and what we’ve decided to do with it. Its about the passing of time, the loss of traditions, the things we do to hold onto what matters most and what weve done to preserve it.

Congratulations to the Kirkland Lake Arts Council on being named the 2019 CJKL Lifetime Achievement Award recipients. Media release: February 28, 2019: The Kirk...land Lake Arts Council has been named the 2019 recipient of the CJKL Lifetime Achievement Award. The organization has been promoting the arts in Kirkland Lake for more than 70 years. The nonprofit organization presents an annual series of live shows by renowned Canadian musicians and performers. The current Kirkland Lake Arts Council season features 8 performances. We are honoured to be receiving this award, said Helene Studholme, the President of the committee for the past 8 years. This is a tribute to the many years of work by our current and former members of our board of directors. The volunteer organization is a tremendous success story. The Art Council’s annual series of shows has completely sold out the past two years. The current board of directors includes Ashley Boudreault, Jennifer Boudreault, Yvette Breen, Dannielle Cloutier, Linda Conrad, Christina Deighton, Cathie Horne, Gilles Langlois, Dolores Lynch, Kim Moreau and Helene Studholme. The KL Arts Council is the 28th recipient of the CJKL Lifetime Achievement Award, presented annually to individuals and organizations contributing to improving the quality of life for the people of Kirkland Lake over many years. The 2019 CJKL Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to the Kirkland Lake Arts Council at the Kirkland Lake and District Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner on Thursday, April 18 at Heritage North. The evening will also include the presentation of the CJKL Citizen of the Year Award to Kirkland Lake Gold and the presentation of the Chamber’s People’s Choice Awards. Online voting for the Chamber awards will begin in March on the Chamber’s website.
