Parents of Knottin School, Finally the time has come and we are glad to write that we are resuming the program operations and will be open to welcome children from June 15th. As we all know that the risk of COVID is not yet completely diminished and therefore government have prescribed updates in regulations. We would like to assure that we have implemented additional safety measures as per updated regulations to ensure safety of on board members and parents. However, this c...annot be made possible without co-operations from parents as it will require a little more effort from parent side as well. This new regulations does not affect the child routine and will look similar to pre-COVID era; except, they will be required to be in a particular group, which is called cohort. It prescribes significant effort for the program as to implement frequent cleaning and sanitizing, performing screening (checklist questionnaire) and documenting, ensuring physical distancing and exercise additional safety dealing with parents. From parents stand point as well need to invest little more efforts for time being. However, we will work out with parents to streamline the process. Since the regulations are keep changing as the risk of pandemic diminishes, we will rather communicate this process with parents at the time of re-enrollment. We have enclosed a screening form for your reference which needs to be filled signed and provided to the center as we return. To ensure utmost safety, regulations prescribes child screening (mainly recording temperature) is performed by parents before coming to the center and will be screened at the center to be accepted. As stated, we will communicate further with parents as they return and will work out to make the process smooth. Kindly be advised that we will be able to extend the credit available for the month of March until end of July to be utilized. This what the best we can do as there is significant operational cost increase for the center due to implementing cleaning protocol and additional staffing requirements. When attendance is low due to winter weather, teachers are asked to provide meaningful instruction in the form of review, practice, and enrichment. PSA for all soon-to-be kindergarten mamas... Practice eating school lunch with your kiddo. Make sure they can open everything you send with them. Talk about n...ot eating off of the table in the lunchroom!!! Set a timer for 15 minutes and talk about how they may not finish eating and thats ok. (This was HARD for little man.) Practice packing everything back up and talk about what is trash and what should come back home in their lunch box. Kindergarten lunch is a big adjustment and your childs teacher will be super appreciative if you have prepared them for the experience! See more

Following a ten-month review, which included consulting with families and communities, the Board of Trustees has approved changes to the #FSD38 attendance bound...aries. These changes come into effect on August 31, 2019. The boundary review affected all Okotoks and DeWinton area elementary and junior high schools as we prepare to open Meadow Ridge School in September 2019.
