This is important to talk about! It is completely okay to feel like we are grieving familiarity, our schedules and routines, as well as the unknown. The article talks about acknowledging our emotions and how emotions need movement! When we vocalize them or even cry, we allow our emotions to move forward and through us. https://hbr.org//03/that-discomfort-youre-feeling-is-grief

We have moved to online counseling while we focus on self isolation. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns about how this works. There is greater flexibility with schedule, and we can discuss sliding scale fee's during this time of uncertainity. Now is not the time to put our mental health on the back burner!

10 Beautiful Questions to Ask to Yourself or Others: 1. What would you do if you knew you could not fail? 2.How are you, really?... 3. It feels so much easier to run, deny or push difficult feelings away. Until our body eventually gets really mad at us for doing this over and over and we find ourselves riddled with heavy emotions such as anxiety, stress, overwhelm etc or physical symptoms! It’s no easy task to do this but it’s incredibly freeing once we can recognize our difficult feelings and what they are trying to tell us about the situation we are experiencing. Notice the feeling by bringing awareness t...o it. Observe the feeling and describe it without judgement. Where is it in your body? What does it feel like? Sometimes it helps to visualize it. Create it into an object in your mind. Make room for the feeling to be there! Allow it to have some space in your body. It is there for us to recognize something. Then let it be exactly as it is. No changing it, no pushing it out. Those feelings will leave when they are ready and validated! Breathe your way through. Breathing is our connection to the present moment keeping you centred and grounded.

Isn't this the truth!? I encourage you to quiet yourselves and listen to what you really need. If it's a night in- do it for you! Our inner selves tries hard to let us know all the time what we need (sleep, alone time, a walk, a pizza all to ourselves, a cozy night in).. all we need to do is listen!

Eliminate it! Cut it out for life! If we really look at the meaning of the word 'should' and how we use it, we can recognize that it does more harm than good. "I should have done better, I should be further ahead in life, I shouldn't have said that, I should have listened better, I should have taken better care of them"--you get the point. 'Should' makes us focus on our shortcomings, makes us feel like we failed or didn't reach expectations (even if we've placed them on ourself). Should belittles our own inner-self, our inner child. It's like constantly putting yourself down! See if you can catch yourself for a couple days and count how many times that inner voice tells you you 'should have' and replace it with something that lifts you up. "Next time I will..."
