Happy Friday everyone!! So I want to have a bit of a serious conversation. I know this third lockdown is affecting everyone in different ways and it’s HARD. I get it, believe me I do. I don’t want to argue about whether or not it was the right or wrong decision. I just want to put it out there that small business are suffering right now and anything you can do to help is so appreciated! I had a conversation with an expecting mom yesterday looking to have studio newborn pictu...res taken. She was the 12th expecting mom I have talked to since this 3rd lockdown started. She was the 12th Momma I had to tell that I wasn’t able to take pictures of her precious new little bundle of joy. These conversations are so difficult because all I want to do is capture all the tiny little toes, noses, chubby cheeks and precious moments while these babes are so tiny. It’s hard to say no to clients but right now that is what I have to do; I will do my part as much as it hurts my heart, is financially difficult, and I have no idea where I will be at the end of it all. So why the long post? I just wanted to put it out there, share a bit of what is going on behind the scene of my small business and ask if you can do something small to help support local small businesses please do. Even if that is just a like/save, comment, sharing an image, writing a review, or purchasing a gift card, it all helps us and we appreciate it so much. With my Thank You Project session finished I thought it was important to highlight these wonderful people, their families, and their stories. I asked each family a few simple questions With the hope that we would be putting out some positive news that educates the public on the great work and also the many sacrifices that have occured by the hospital staff over the course of the pandemic. 1. Where do you work in the hospital? And how has the pande...mic affected your work and home life? I work in the ER, and my husband works in Palliative Care and has a family practice. The pandemic has certainly made work feel more stressful, with much uncertainty and requirement for so much personal protective equipment (PPE). But in many ways, we have been so lucky to still have work throughout the pandemic, and have the work that we do be largely unchanged. 2. What has been the most rewarding thing you have experienced throughout the pandemic? We have been so impressed with the response of both our hospital, PRHC, and our community of Peterborough throughout the pandemic. Despite it being a stressful time in health care, we have always felt safe, well supported and informed by the senior leadership at PRHC.
