Your parents and grandparents had pensions for life in retirement. And they were mortgage free by age 50. What's your plan? #knowyourfinancialmath #getaplan #quantifyyourgoals

If you are age 55 with a $500,000 mortgage remaining, how does retirement work for you? #getaplan #know your retirement math

Get a head start on your 2020 personal tax return preparation this weekend. Most Canadians have less than a month until the filing deadline. #taxes #incometax

In December we were busy deregistering up to $25,000 of RRSPs from low income clients 55-64 who had little or no income otherwise. Great tax planning move annually for families if you fit the criteria. Little or not tax paid on withdrawal. #proactivefinancialadvisors

Just finishing minimum RRIF payments for 2020 for retired clients. We coach most clients to delay taking any withdrawal each year until December(if they don't need the money earlier). This defers income tax longer. Good tax planning. #proactivefinancialadvisor #taxplanning

At this time of the year, pro-active investment advisors will call you to review your taxable investments to see if you have any losers to sell. Capital losses can be carried back 3 years to recover past taxes paid on gains. This is great value-added and a must do annually.

Just finishing helping clients donate stocks and ETFs to charities and causes. Donating appreciated securities gets you a better tax result than donating cash. Not too late to take advantage of this winning tax move and to help a worthy cause in 2020! #donation #charity
