Meet our student Peri! Do you know that there are over 20 campuses in the LCI Education network? Our students have plenty of options to start and finish their education journey in any of our destinations! Peri studied in LaSalle College Tunisia, LAB Vancouver and currently studying Bachelor of Interior Design at LaSalle College Vancouver!... Below is Peri's testimonial which we would like to share with you. How was studying English at LAB Vancouver? When I came to Vancouver, my English was quite bad. At LAB my classes were well-organized and the teachers were amazing. Through activities and socializing, I was able to settle in here quite easily. What are you currently studying? What do you like about this program? I am study Interior Design. This program is very defined at the beginning so you know pretty much what you are doing and what your path is. Each quarter I’m discovering new interests and contents. What are your future plans? My ultimate goal is to bring back all my knowledge and experience to my home country. This way I can contribute to the growth of Interior Design in Africa because there is a lot to develop and we need to start with good skills. #LABVancouver #LanguagesAcrossBorders #WeareLCI #LaSalleCollegeVancouver #LaSalleCollege #StudentTestimonials #EnglishinVancouver

HOMETOWN GRADUATION THEME Last week our LAB students created interactive presentation boards of their hometowns. In round robin style, students presented what they had created and the ones listening were encouraged to ask questions about what they were told and what they saw. The delicious restaurants of Japan , the beautiful panoramas of Chile , the beaches of Spain , the bustling streets of Korea , the sand swept buildings of Iran , the colorful cafes of Mexico and the natural parks of Colombia were all stops along the way of this Friday graduation adventure!

Meet Lie, Our Brazilian Butterfly Lie (and her sister Julia) have been at LAB for a while now. Everyone here knows them and our day often starts with Lie's cheerful greetings at the front :-) Where are you from and why did you come to Vancouver?... My name is Lie and I’m from Brazil. I came to Vancouver because I wanted to learn English and also make friends from around the world. What has been the most surprising thing so far during your stay in Vancouver? The most surprising things for me was to experience eating the snow. Also meeting friendly people from around the world, and visiting beautiful places. What is something you still want to try in Canada? I would like to go to the Niagara Falls.

Insider Tip! Vancouver has many hidden gems. Teacher Sara is sharing one of her favorite places in town: The Bonus Bakery My most favourite place to get these goodies is Bonus Bakery on Georgia Street. Their cookies are baked from scratch, all filled with a creamy delicious dollop of goodness, and 100% vegan.... I’m not vegan myself, but to be honest, I can’t even tell that they don’t contain eggs, milk etc. The greatest thing about this company is they deliver cookies to your house every Wednesday & Friday when you place an online order. Cookie delivery?!? Yes, please!!!! Be sure to check this place out. You won’t regret it!

Has summer really come to an end...? No worries! We will warm you with a fall filled with turkey (or not!), pumpkin carving and Halloween terror Here at LAB we LIVE to share everything Canada has to offer with our students. And in turn, our students share lots with us: their culture, their stories, their ideas and goals are what make LAB a great place ... *** MEET MAI from JAPAN *** I arrived in February 2020 from Japan. My life here looks like my student life back when I was younger: this is not a vacation for me. To come to Vancouver and study English is the first step in opening my own cafe! I rarely miss my home country. I thought I'd miss Japanese food but it is quite easy to have good food (and Japanese food) here. What I miss most is my boyfriend and my family. Going back to Japan, I'd miss Canadian nature and weather most! I personally think Japan doesn’t have nature like Canada, its beautiful lakes, magnificent ocean and mountains. The summers are not as hot and humid either. Above all, I'd miss all the new people I've met here. My advice for other students would be: study at LAB! The teachers are kind and funny, sometimes strict but always on your side My classmates and teachers have helped me speak English without negative feelings and with lots of encouragement. My second tip is to make as many friends as possible! I don’t mean you should make friends with just anyone but be open to making friends from other countries. It widens your perspective and as we become adults we have less and less chances to meet new friends easily

We are not quite there yet due to Covid-19 BUT nothing stops us from a little celebration in the park. ... @ Trout Lake Park, BBQ, , and a few games of ladder ball (yeah, you have never seen this game before right? It's another sunny week in Vancouver! Today, we are delighted to share images of our current location and a sneak peek into our new LAB space at the LaSalle College Vancouver campus. We are currently using the spacious design classrooms for LAB daytime classes, the gallery is ready for our first graduation pictures (and hopefully soon, our infamous LAB events) and students have been enjoying their lunch under the covered patio. The construction team is almost done with the interior of our own and brand-new LAB space right next to the reception area. We can't wait to fill this space with some LAB spirit, LAB noise and most of all: LAB students and teachers!

Yessss! We took it outdoors for our first LAB activity in months @Cleveland Dam - Lake Capilano ! Although we normally host hundreds of students at LAB in the summer time, this year is very different. Small classes, fewer students but this doesn't stop us from exploring Vancouver and making new friends Did you know........ Mahiro is our LAB night owl . Arturo is known to bike to campus every single day . Daniela is one of the rare ESL students in Vancouver who drives a car . Cindy went back and forth to Korea in recent months and shows no signs of covid-19 . Chloe's Korean name Cho Hee means 'beautiful and joy' which is exactly how she is . Cynthia is our best dressed hiker and she plays volleyball like a PRO . Yuki taught Kindergarten and is a climber *** LAB Students Rock ***
