Can't believe this was over a year ago! We filmed the challenge in May last year and had to keep the whole thing a secret until the end of August when the episode aired! It was so much fun working with the crew and contestants! How many takes do you think it took @jonmonty12 to get the segment intro right? And congratulations to Anthony and James for winning the season! Hopefully the race will be back up and running for 2021. . .... . #amazingracecanada #amazingracecanada2019 #djicanada #djizoom #ctv #dji #behindthescenes #dronenerds @ Thunder Bay, Ontario See more

Hey everyone, we hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer the best you can. We have been busy flying and working on a few different projects around town. Here is a fun video showcasing the flights with our #DJI #Matrice200 on our agriculture research project. If you are looking for an interesting webinar to watch, you should register for this free session tomorrow! We had Paul, the director of PGC visit us this past school year, sharing some of his work and the mind blowing remote sensing projects that they are working on. We are definitely looking forward to this online series from our friends across the border!

That time we build a drone arena! Here's a little behind the scenes of the build process. With an idea that started from an airport distraction, the lab's technologist @ryan.wilkie.56 along with graduate students @landryevan @sarahanneblake and Luke the-guru-Klages, built the drone dome! It's 8x8 ft base is made of wood, and plexiglass, framed in aluminum. LED strips were run across the base to give it that glowing look. The enclosure was made from a pop-up sun tent and some... soccer netting! We use this to bring the fun of flying, indoors while keeping things safe. And we would say it's a huge success! We've already had it out at several local events including @mylakehead report to the community and #researchandinnovationweek. #djiglobal #djicanada #djinorthamerica #drones #droneresearch #aerialimagery #dji #dronestagram #twenty4sevendrones #illgammers #dronenerds #dronedome #lakeheadnaturalresourcesmanagement #lakeheadlearning #thunderbay @ Thunder Bay, Ontario
