Happy Earth Day everyone! Our planet needs us to think of new ways to reduce, reuse, recycle and reduce our impact on the planet. A great thing you can do to limit your carbon footprint is shopping local. The less kilometers food has to travel from farm to consumer the better it is on the planet, from emissions to transportation costs to quality. We are also going to highlight some of our favourite eco-friendly items we have in the farm store through our Instagram page today! Remember we don't all have to do a perfect job reducing our waste, but if everyone starting taking some small great steps it would make a big impact!!

While we patiently wait for all of the spring vegetables and pickling season to start we have been busy stocking our pantry with jams! Last week we made blueberry peach and raspberry peach.. yum! Chicken preording is now live! We have exciting news! Our chicken is now available for pre-order. Our chicken is raised on our farm with lots of care. Our chicken is pasture raised (May-November), antibiotic free, hormone free and delicious. We raised our chicken under the Chicken Farmers of Ontario's Artisanal Chicken program. This program allows us to raise up to 3000 chickens on farm. Every year we are responsible for completing the appropriate paper work regarding animal... welfare, shipping and processing. We must complete training courses regarding animal welfare, proper animal husbandry and transporting. We have an on-farm audit yearly, where the CFO will inspect our operation and ensure we are doing the absolute best job we can raising chicken for Ontario Families. All that being said, we truly love raising animals, and care from them from the very beginning of their lives to the end in an excellent way! Our first batch of chicken will be available May 15-16 for preorders. Visit our website to place your order for whole birds, flat cut, breasts, wings, thighs, drumsticks and more. Covid 19 update: Landman gardens will remain open Wednesday-Saturday for your grocery shopping needs! Our staff are working extremely hard to keep our store stocked and sanitized. We are asking for one person/bubble in the store at a time, and sanitizing all touch surfaces between customers. We are so thankful for your support during these crazy times. These ladies have done an outstanding job all year. From learning a new online store system, to organizing curbside pickups to pumping more food out of our kitchen than ever before.
