'In our opinion, this route incorporates the best parts of gravel riding at Burnaby Mountain, it features some tough climbs that make it challenging for such a short ride. The highlight being a trail by the name of Side Bandit, an incredibly fun section of flowy single track on a gravel bike. The detour takes you up the gnarly Homestead hill, a beautifully steep section of double-track trail. "When I started talking with @startupblake and @georgergebailey about designing and building my bike, I was looking at building a fast gravel race bike. I wanted it to work for long days in the saddle and be suitable for some Mid-South races. At the same time, I also wanted a bike that I could do some long bikepacking trips on." . "I... was eager to be a part of the entire bike build process and I ended up being able to do most of the finishing work myself. Once the frame was welded, there was a lot of sanding, grinding, and sandblasting that needed to be done. It was pretty cool to help with the anodizing of the frame to get the colors I was after. " .
