Last week I had a few questions about the right and wrong way to write in business. As a Copywriter, I don't follow all the rules 'cause sometimes you gotta write a little differently to captivate your audience. But if you're lookin' for a few tips to improve your writing ... this is an easy read. (and yeah, I started a sentence with but).

How much are you willing to pay by staying silent? I am not talking about exchanging words for dollars here. This is all about you! ... And your ability to stand up & stand out. Whether you’re trying to bust through the glass ceiling, be heard & ‘seen’ at the table, or become the Go-to Gal in your industry ... This reaches deep - deep down to how we feel about ourselves. How we allow others to perceive us. How we serve others & how we ‘show up’ as a woman, a colleague, a friend, a sister, a lover, or a mother. There is a way. A strategy ... A reason. But most importantly, there’s YOU. And if you’re one to hold back and stay small ... it’s costing you more than you know ... ... you’re missing out on life, love & an opportunity to do great things. Take this moment to decide what you can do today so your beautiful voice is heard. Make a difference with words. Big hugs

It all comes down to this ... connection. As I stood in line at a local store today I began talking to a young woman ... As she spoke I wondered what her life was like behind closed doors. ... A noticeable bruise on both her eye and cheek. Her clothes more suitable for summer and ... ... I saw (& could feel) her goosebumps! She appeared to be ‘on’ for others but as they looked away, her smile quickly faded (her facing lifting then dropping in her mask). She, off in her own world. They pretending not to notice the bruising. I was consumed by her apparent struggle (trying not to make assumptions)... attempting to be supportive but struggling to understand her predicament. At times we make snap judgments ... placing him or her in a category all their own. But I wonder if we knew their back story would we feel differently? I would like to think so. To feel the need to extend a helping hand ... to take action rather than add our two cents or shame. I share this because today I met a woman whom I will likely never meet again. A sweet woman will the biggest brown eyes. And she taught me a life lesson. If it feels wrong it likely is ... so take action to right the wrong. She gave me the best birthday gift ... a sneak peek inside her struggle. A chance to set aside my own needs and wants so she could feel seen ... heard. There is no better feeling than giving ... Thank you Seema ... I appreciate your journey. I heard you. I trust there are better days to come. Lessons learned & feeling 10x better by giving rather than receiving today. A priceless connection. Big hugs

Be true to you ... I love glam just as much as the next gal but when it comes down to it ... my misshaped eyebrows (yah Silv I need you over to work your magic ) won’t ruin my day. The change in season can bring about inspiration. Here in Canada we’re putting away flip flops & lovin’ up on fuzzy slippers. At this moment, my feet are snuggled in my cozy Ugg’s.
