Wishing everyone a year of good health!! Shabbat Shalom. Thank you - Noam Horev for your heartfelt words below and for writing a song for our Larger Than Life Children battling cancer. ... The whole trip to Ichilov I cried for my sister on the phone. I was crying for her about quarantine. And I cried to her about not having mom's food on the holiday (anyway, there's nothing like Iraqi mother's food!!) And I cried to her that you can't fly abroad. And I cried, and I cried, and I cried. And then I got to the hospital. I had the privilege of writing a new song for the Bigger than Life Association (Association for children with cancer). The amazing Nasrin Kadri was chosen to perform it. The filming for the video clip of the song took place in the children's department. Parked my car in the parking lot. I loaded some surprises for the kids. I took a breath. I went up to the 2. th floor. I met the production team. I hugged Nasrin, and then... So I met the kids. Little-big heroes. Angels in human form. Real piters with a weak body and a strong spirit, who are fighting the battle of their lives. And all of a sudden... boom. Everything goes into perspective. Wtf am I whining about?! On quarantine?! on the mask?! on the limited holidays?! Bullshit. It's all nonsense. While the mother of one of the girls told me about the treatments they were forced to go through, suddenly I thought to myself. Sometimes we dwell on such unimportant matters in this life. Wasting energy on the wrong things. You don't make a selection - what to take to your heart, and what not. And suddenly you stand in front of these kids, and everything seems small to you. Meaningless. It's true that each of us has our own problems. The bag he carries on his back. But the rocking encounter with these brave children was like an alarm clock. To how fragile everything is. Why is it really important. To the strength of the soul that these families are required for. How crucial it is to stay optimistic in this life. So what do I have left?? Just to wish us all a year of health. A year of health, and mainly - A year of proportions. In the picture - me and Abigail that entered my heart. Soon she will enter the heart of y'all - - - - The new song you can hear in the Bigger than Life fundraiser soon on Channel 13, Resh. Thank you to the amazing team that made this happen. A big association of life. The awesome advertising office HapPPpy. Eldad Cohen the composer, Alon Peretz the processor, and the one and only - Nas Photo: Hila Eizinger Larger than Life - 13

"Larger than Life" helps me financially, if they didn't I wouldn't be able to survive it," says Galit Sabah, a single mother of four from Bat Yam. "My cousin has had cancer for 16 years. I can not work because I spent whole weeks with him in the hospital. If they had not helped me, two weeks ago I would not have had a crumb of bread at home. I had no way to feed my children. They help finance needed medication, paying bills, even a psychologist, they arranged for me once a we...ek. How would I manage without them? If they fall, I fall with them. Galit made these comments in a recent ynet article - Because of the Coronavirus: More Than a Thousand Aid Organizations on the Verge of Collapse. - These organizations routinely provide cancer patients, Holocaust survivors and people with disabilities with the help that the state does not provide. Due to the economic crisis, many non-profit organizations, which are mainly supported by donations, are experiencing a significant drop in revenue - in parallel with an increase in financial aid requests. Now the operators are warning: if it continues like this - we will close The economic difficulties do not go unnoticed by any non-profit organization - not even by the large and well-established ones, such as the "Larger Than Life" organization, which supports children with cancer and their families. "We feel the economic crisis very much and are experiencing a significant decrease in both donations from the public and especially in the business donations, which are the most difficult," explains Lior Shmueli, CEO of the association. "We will not be able to continue to provide financial assistance to families, fund medications and tests and fund psychiatric support treatments for the sick child and his family as it was in the past. As Rosh Hashana holidays are almost here, please consider making a donation to the Large Than Life Canada Rosh Hashanah Appeal to help support families such as Galit Sabah's. www.linktr.ee/LargerThanLifeCanada

Elai Talker had cancer at the age of 8 and among all the new things he suddenly had to deal with, he had to learn how to swallow pills... and many of them! It wasn't simple and only after several attempts he succeeded, but he didn't forget how hard it was at first. To help other children who are dealing with the same problem, Elai wrote a guide to taking pills. Read More... https://largerthanlifecanada.org/news-posts/19285/

After a very unique year, the Larger Than Life Kindergarten of Dreams celebrated a graduation party with a small group of children whose doctor's have allowed them to participate with other children. Each age group have been celebrating on different days only with the regular staff but without parents. Despite the current COVID-19 issues, the mood was uplifting. The parties took place in a warm atmosphere of sea, sun, water and ice cream, with lots of songs and music. The c...hildren received their crafts, lovely gifts, blessings, photos and celebrated overcoming all the challenges that the past 4 months have brought. Wishing all the children and parents a pleasant and healthy summer and on this occasion, we virtually hug the kindergarten staff for a year of extraordinary investment, of working in small groups, and especially keeping in touch virtually from home and lots and lots of love. Happy summer holidays See more

The endless work that the staff and social workers do on the oncology ward is invaluable. Our Larger Than Life support coordinators work with them in all hospitals throughout the year to support families and assist them as much as possible to navigate the system. Daniella Yakir, mother of young Nevo who recently passed away, shared her feelings about how important the pediatric oncology department is to her family. When Nevo got cancer, the second person who approached u...s after the doctor, was the department's social worker. The truth, until then I didn't know social workers at all. Matan introduced himself and immediately approached work - to make it easier for the family both in the field of bureaucracy and in the field Mostly in the field of mind. Matan, the social worker of the department accompanied us throughout the period, any question, any problem, anything. When the cancer returned to Nevo, Matan has already become part of the family because we were informed that there is no cure for Nevo's cancer. For a year and seven months, Matan was the person we listened to, every week he insisted to take care of all the enormous and complicated bureaucracy. Any parent of a child with cancer will tell you that there is no such thing as an oncology department without a social worker. This is an integral part of the department. From the disease. When Nevo passed away in the morning, Matan came immediately to hug us, to wrap us up, and also in this difficult moment he explained and took care of all the practical matters of the death and accompanied us. Matan is still accompanying us. And will always accompany. Social workers deal with the field of mind and therefore their work is 24/7. Every child is a whole world, and every social worker is a whole world for the family. I wish that we would understand, appreciate and cherish every day a little more, their endless and important amazing work of social workers." Please help support this life saving work. www.largerthanlifecanada.org/donate

Wishing all a Shabbat Shalom. Our second Larger Than Life family program adventure took place last week. 12 families, 57 participants and 33 jeeps went out, for an adrenaline rush jeep ride in the Ben Shemen Forest. Adhering to the social distance guidelines each family enjoyed a picnic lunch together sharing a beautiful day of family outdoor activities. Many thanks to our volunteers most of them young adults now and cancer survivors whose families have been previously supported through LTL.
