We love a bit of artistic note taking! When notes are aesthetically pleasing, they are easier to go over. Note taking is more than just writing things down on paper. They are also a great way to individualize learning to fit your needs! Don’t just write stuff down. Underline, colour-code, or draw pictures! Pictures are a great way to individualize notes. Some of our favourite things to draw are flow charts, tables, or other important diagrams! Bullet points are also helpful ...to take down key information. If a teacher spends a lot of time on one concept, you can be sure that it will be important in the future. Also, make sure to tailor your notes to tackle the key concepts and topics of your course. When it comes time to study it might be beneficial to draw mind maps or make flash cards. Not only is the physical writing beneficial, but so is the ability to visualize your concepts coming together. Don’t forget to practice, practice, practice!
