FUll MOON BOOM! After another successful season of guiding in the kawartha lakes it was time to take to a road trip and chase the bite! We had some success during the day with a ice breaker fish, but not the one we were after, this fish took all of the two days , double shifts trolling into the night. Being out on the water with two good buddies, Rodel and brett all sharing the wealth, each of us landing a fish, couldn't ask for a better result. This was my first fish... from this area, won't be the last!! To all still braving the conditions chasing the bite be safe and tightlines. CHANGE IN PRESENTATION. It took longer than we wanted, to locate the muskies , I had fished previous days with good success hoping for the same results, using similar baits and weather conditions as days past , not much had changed EXCEPT the muskies mood.... fished the morning hard with Zero signs of life we made a small presentation change and thats all it took. We were on em! Actually myself and craig were watching taylor put on a fish clinic boating 4 for 5 muskies a...nd even a walleye in the mix. The first fish we netted, I noticed had a walleye jig down its throat, so using jaw spreaders my boga to control the head and long nose pliers i was able to remove the jig lodged in the muskies throat. ALWAYS take a look in the fishes mouth after removing hooks you never know what u will find hahah!!!! WORK HARD PLAY HARD Sometimes they come easy and sometimes they DON'T. after figuring out the pattern during this late fall weather, just when u think you have them dialed, mother nature throws a curve ball and you deal with it.... This was the only fish of the trip with long time client and friend chris. Also my good buddy phil tagged along to help put the odds in our favour. Took us just about 8 hrs to have this fish bagged for a quick pic and a hell of a selfie!!!!! Grea...t time gents teamwork on this fish all the way. NEW MOON BOOM! Had the pleasure of hosting these beauties right here. Ryan, adam, and gord were looking to experience some muskie hunting.This trip has been in the works for a long time. These 3 made the trip with high hopes in locating the elusive muskie. Hosting a group of paramedics made it that much more special for me.... The fish showed us their location in the early stages of the trip and it was on from there on out!!!! We ended the trip with 6 fish in the bag and a... few misses. Had a blast with this group who treated me to a hell of a steak dinner, not knowing they would take all my money in poker that night hahahaha. WE'RE BACK!!!!! We had a great time with the davis brothers this weekend. They had expressed the reason for wanting to take the charter was to gain the knowledge and confidence to take back to their local body of water, where they will continue to chase these amazing toothy critters we all love so much! This trip was the first back after a long layoff due to the high water temps. After a short tutorial on how to work certain baits. We were off to a quick start with doug bagg...ing a chunky little guy to break the ice from there the smiles just kept on coming. The guys bought into the program and carried confidence the whole trip we ended the day bagging several muskies with a few close calls! Thanks for the good times and all the laughs gents! We had another successful trip! The east winds and cold mornings have been making us work for them early, but man i love the pattern we are moving into. I'm beyond excited to add both of these custom art pieces to the last cast lodge. Those that know me also know i have a deep rooted history with these baits . So when i saw this painting by charles weiss @chuckwhatyacaught i had to have it! At a very early age i was told by my family and muskie mentors, if you ever need a bait this is the one! FEEDING WINDOWS Had a great time on the water with this group! I could tell right off the bat this trip would be alot of fun! We started of with a small cookie cutter to break the ice. They all bought into the program, eventually covering water, targetting high percentage areas of the lake we would have our chance at some quality fish. Like clockwork during the major our feeding window opened and we got 2 big biters! Congrats on the p.b. guys, we ended the trip with 3 fish... and another happy group! if your looking for a shot at a kawartha muskie hit me up. With this being my 3rd upcoming guiding season i wanted to redo my logo. I reached out to charles weiss to see if he could help me out. I wanted more of a realistic feel but wasnt sure exactly what i wanted to be honest, man did he hit the nail on the head. He walked me through the process starting with a few ideas, and he ran with it. I couldn't be happier with the end result. Not only did he do a colour logo, paired with a black and white, he also sends the original art that i am going to hang in the last cast lodge!
