It was very last minute but I'm excited to be joining in with the Etsy/What the Junk Vintage Market this Saturday, Sept.29th. Pop by my booth & say Hello
Hope to see you at The Prairie Girls Vintage Market next weekend Sept 6th & 7th Friday 4-8pm Saturday 9am-4pm... Pop by my booth "art & found" and say hi :) https://www.facebook.com/events/298123374167800/?ti=icl
been busy in the studio the last few weekends and have lots of "work in progress" from my "painted lace" series. My hope is to forever entomb and save the art of very talented women from our past who's art is lost and usually unappreciated in this day and age such as lace, embroidered linens etc. By including them on my canvas and painting them I like to think I'm bringing them in to this age and hopefully they will once again be admired and cherished by a new generation. So...metimes it can take me months even years to finish a piece because I like to jump around from piece to piece and find it hard to commit to a final look. Some pieces, that I've been working on for awhile have changed quite a bit and continue changing with my mood. I often don't have a clue what it will ultimately end up looking like especially if the idea is from my imagination :) so it's like Christmas when it finally evolves into the piece it was meant to be. Who knows what these will look like in a few months??? that's why I like to document my work in progress. I cook the same way, bob around and never follow recipes :) That's how I get a little excitement in my life.
Fabulous vintage finds & creative decor at The Prairie Girls Vintage Market. Pop by for some great shopping!!!
another new "work in progress" this is part of my painted painted lace series, no title yet. this is oil on canvas board. That's the one thing I'm not sure I like about oil paint, it takes months to dry before you can seal it and I am not a patient woman ;)
this is an old "work in progress" finally trying to finish it. I've changed the faces several times, think this one will stick, maybe :) Title: Sisters
pics from the various markets/shows that I do, mostly in the Calgary area.
