Today is National #HumanTrafficking Awareness Day. It was just a great honour working on this project. This is not a "somebody" else problem; it happens in our own backyard, to Canadians, by Canadians. Let's be aware, let's be knowledgeable, and let's support organizations like Bridgenorth, who do amazing work and are changing people's lives. https://www.bridgenorth.org/ #ldbdesigninc #endhumantrafficking

How has everyone been? There has been lots of information on what’s next for the office environment...is there a right answer? Each company is unique, each culture is also unique...so your answer will be as well. Drop us a line! Let’s figure out tomorrow together! #ldbdesigninc #workplacedesign #motivationmonday #tomorrowtogether

Happy Tuesday! These past few weeks I have been talking about Brant Menswar's book, Black Sheep: Unleash the Extraordinary, Awe-Inspiring, Undiscovered You. We all have our core values - our "Flock of Five" - the things that are immovable, non-negotiable. At first, I "quickly" determined that mine were Knowledge, Kindness, Creativity, Human-Centred and Respect......but that's not where they ended up! Stay tuned.....I'll post them on Friday Once determined, the book talks ab...out how to track these values and PROVE that they are REAL....sometimes we just WANT these things to mean something to us, when in fact - they don't mean as much as we think they do. Sometimes we have to keep searching ourselves to find the values that are at our core, but over time, those values reveal themselves! Once you track (how they show up in your day) your core values (your 'sheep') and prove they are really part of your flock. When you start tracking you understand how you can intentionally programming those values into your day. It's called 'Feeding Your Sheep!' If your core words don't "program", maybe they are too specific, more "aspirational" than focused. Doesn't mean they are wrong, but as I did for all my Flock, except one....I had to find a value word that could encompass "more of my day/life". For example, for 'human-centred' - it was too narrow a focus, and what does that mean exactly....does it just "sound good". Through analysis, studies the book asks you to look at, and being fortunate to get to actually speak in depth with Brant Christopher Menswar it became apparent that my true value was CONNECTION. It was pretty cool to see how, once identifed, the flock of five, purposefully fit into the day. I want you all to take this journey and unleash the extraordinary, awe-inspiring, undiscovered you too!!!! Pre-order Brant's book below!!!! It's on our #ldbdesignincbookclub reading list for the fall! Hope you can join in the fun! Available on Amazon and Indigo #BlackSheep #FindYourFlock #FlockOfFive #OnPurpose Quote from page 87

The other day I introduced you to Brant Menswar’s book, Black Sheep: Unleash the Extraordinary, Awe-Inspiring, Undiscovered You , this post, I want to talk to you about the initial find.go to the website and you can see how I started I encourage you to try it out, and then get the book (available via Amazon and Indigo).really is an interesting ride. I truly would love to have a book club discussion on this in the fall with anyone who too.would be really cool! @LDBd...esignInc we had book club discussions in the past and would love to resurrect it (this year probably virtually ) http://worksheet.findyourblacksheep.com/ Just because you think you know what your core values are, doesn’t make them real. In fact, it is rare that your initial Flock of Five are your actual Black Sheep Values. Weren’t for me anyways. The process of tracking when and where they appear in your life starts with counting sheep. Not that kind of counting! For 2 weeks, at the end of each day, I dug back through my day looking for proof that these values appeared organically. In my experience I discovered some initial words that I selected were too finite, i.e. kindness. Impossible to track and really was that the ideal essence? Is that what shows in my day to day life? Is that what I want to show or did I pick a word that I thought sounded good to others. this when it got real, and I called BS on that word, and so did Brant Christopher Menswar because I had to dig a bit deeper to get to my flock. I’ll let you know what my flock is in the coming weeks I thought they would be just the same as my "business" www.ldbdesign.com (cover page), but they aren't....similar, but leveled up....it was the leveling up that was enlightening. *quote from page 63* #BlackSheep #FindYourFlock #FlockOfFive #OnPurpose

Just wanted to let you know something I've been up to! Back in the spring I attended (virtually of course) three Facebook Live sessions with a speaker by the name of Brant Christopher Menswar, speaking about discovering your non-negotiable values...the sessions wonderful!! From there I started following him on Facebook and then one day he posted, "my book is launching in September, who wants to be a part of my book launch team".....Well I said a quick "I'm in!" Never being p...art of a book launch and finding the material, everyone's "Black Sheep Values" so intriguing...I was hopeful I could take part. Well I did, and over the past 5 weeks I have been doing a program based on the book, Black Sheep by Brant Christopher Menswar. It has been an incredible journey of discovery and growth. Did you know that Black Sheep’s wool cannot be altered or dyed? They are the constants; no inside or outside force can change that. In reading this book, I discovered my non-negotiable Flock of Five Black Sheep, it was a fascinating journey. Not to mention the opportunity to get to know Brant, and all my new Original Flocker friends from all over the US and a few of us in Canada. I’m so excited to share this journey with you, I'll be posting quotes from the book over the next few weeks, let you know what my non-negotiables are and how they fit in my life. #BlackSheep #FindYourFlock #FlockOfFive #OnPurpose
