Despite the restrictions for massage in Alberta being lifted, I have still not returned to Passage. I will be back offering my massage services as soon as the studio reopens. Further easing of indoor fitness is supposed to be happening in Step 2 of Alberta's path forward strategy. Fingers crossed. In the meantime, you can find me Saturday evenings at Leela Eco Spa on 17th Ave from 2 - 8:30pm.
Referrals are no longer required as of January 18, 2021.
Massage Therapy is part of Phase 2 in Alberta’s relaunch strategy. Premier Kenney recently mentioned during a media session that Phase 2 will not happen until June 19 at the earliest. Since the city of Calgary may continue to open more gradually than other parts of Alberta, I am not anticipating being able to offer hands-on massage therapy appointments until July. At this time, yoga studios are still part of Phase 3, and the timing is TMD. If I am unable to offer massage ap...pointments at Passage when Phase 2 is launched, I will keep you updated on where you can find me. With the constantly changing restrictions, timelines, and public health mandates, I am still unsure exactly what safely offering massage therapy will look like. It’s dependent on the guidelines and recommendations that are given by Alberta Health Services and my Massage Therapy Associations in both Alberta and Ontario. It may include requirements such as pre-appointment screening and heightened infection control and sanitation practices, including the requirement to use personal protective equipment (PPE), for example, masks and gloves.

I just opened up my schedule this Saturday, September 22 from 10 to 2 pm. Online booking available:
The provincial restrictions for massage therapy have changed. Effective December 22nd, you are now required to get a referral from any regulated health professional* in order to receive a massage. You can contact any of your regular care providers such as your medical doctor, physiotherapist, chiropractor, psychologist, acupuncturist, or dentist to acquire this referral. This appointment can be done either in person or via virtual meeting. Other than the requirement for a referral, no other new requirements or restrictions have been put in place. *To view the list of all regulated health care professions in Alberta please click the following link: https://www.alberta.ca/regulated-health-professions.aspx
