Studies show that breaks in your study routine can positively affect your attention abilities. Taking breaks from studying every ninety minutes or so can improve both focus and attention. In addition to taking regular study breaks, what you do with each break can matter, too.
WHEN CHILDREN FALL BEHIND When a child begins to struggle with their school work, it is best to get them the help they need as soon as possible. The longer it takes for a student to get help, the more lost they become since the school learning continues. The Common Core Standards build on each other in an orderly fashion. If a concept is lost on a student the following concepts will only continue to make the student fall further behind.

SIGHT WORDS Sight words, are commonly used words that young children should memorize by sight. This is so, that they can automatically recognize these words in print within three seconds without having to use any strategies to decode. Starting in Kindergarten, every grade has a group of sight words children should know.

Spelling can be challenging. Do you know when to double the last constant and when not to in a word? The Rule is... If a word has only one vowel and ends in the letter F, L or S, then double the last letter. This is referred to as the FLOSS Rule. However there are exceptions. If the S letter makes a z sound then don’t double it.
