Just a heads up to the people who are doing ditch cleanup. Call the city and they will send a truck to take the bags so you will not be stickered by garbage trucks employed by the city when you have overlimit of bags.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT Cancellation of Curbside Solid Waste Collection and Facility Closures on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 Tuesday, January 7, 2020, 12:30 p.m.... Due to the major winter storm event and expected road conditions and facility impacts, the curbside collection of garbage, organics, and recyclables in areas normally scheduled to occur on Wednesday, January 8th is CANCELLED. For residents who would normally have collection on Wednesday, January 8th, there will be allowance for double the garbage limits next collection cycle on Wednesday, January 22nd. For residents who normally receive curbside collection on Wednesdays, solid waste collection is cancelled for tomorrow, January 8th. Please do not place materials curbside for collection tomorrow. HRM would also like to advise the public and commercial solid waste haulers that due to the major winter storm event, the following facilities will be CLOSED tomorrow, Wednesday, January 8th: The Materials Recycling Facility at 20 Horseshoe Lake Dr. The Composting Facilities at 80 Gloria McCluskey Ave in Burnside and 61 Evergreen Place in Goodwood We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
