I decided to make something I've wanted for ages. A @folkwearsewing.patterns Gibson Girl blouse in cotton batiste. I had this beautiful antique lace which I washed and iron yards of it to use as the insertion part. I also used antique mother of pear buttons on the back and cuffs. I made the collar but decided to forego it. I bound the neck edge in self bias instead. I did finish it but it is so very hot I can't wear it or the sailor blouse I finished last week. I mean hot. ...37c and rising. Sleeves either need to not exsist or aren't longer than 10 cm. You'll have to wait to see the finished product. As always, I love the @folkwearsewing.patterns versatility in making something to wear for today. I'm eyeing cheesemakers smocks in double gauze and all the embroidery on everything. My current dress is an apron dress in cotton check about half finished but I've escaped to the cool basement for the rest of the day. This amazing vintage piped edging is going on a sailor blouse I'm making. It's a very dark navy and I've been hoarding it for years. I've stayed away from a sailor shirt for many years because I was afraid to look childish or wierd. Seeing so few people for so long now has me wearing and making my long desired items.
