We are thrilled to welcome Joe Porter to our SP family! Check out this video of Joe performing Blazing Guitar, Rumba Flamenca by Juan Serrano, arranged by Joe... Porter. Excited that two youth percussion groups (WHIP) and the Young Artist Percussion Academy from the U of L Conservatory of Music have been approved to start up aga...in in September!! If you know of any youth percussionists in Southern Alberta (or other instrumentalists that want to try percussion), I would love to hear from them!) Here is WHIP playing some Beethoven! Thinking back on WHIP, we were very fortunate to travel to Hawaii last year! No trips this year but so grateful to start up in September.

When COVID-19 hit, all the ensembles here ended for the semester however we decided to keep the University of Lethbridge Conservatory of Music Young Artist Cons...ervatory running with online sessions. Here are these young percussionists with a sample of the fun tune Tico Tico no Fuba. The biggest challenge for them is to line up the timing of the inner beats. When performing as a group they can easily hear if they are off and adjust. With recording by-themselves that is not so easy!

We had an amazing time with the wonderful Antoine Fatout!!! Antoine gave the University of Lethbridge Conservatory of Music Young Artist Percussion Academy a wo...rkshop on how to practice/musicianship on the drum set. What a great way to end our semester!! The students are now pumped to practice/play over the summer! Fa2 Drum Studio
