Good morning. By now typhoon Ulysses has left Philippines but not without a trail of heavy damages along its path. In addition to COVID pandemic, filipinos are now faced with rebuilding their homes and overcoming the diseases brought by the typhoon. Let us continue to pray for the situation that relief will come ASAP especially to those who are trapped by flooding. Pray that we will be able to connect to the right partner who will bring the relief directly to people.... URGENT NEWS: PAUSE TO PRAY Philippines orders evacuation as the world’s strongest typhoon of 2020 approaches. Typhoon Goni will be the strongest Typhoon to hit the Philippines since Haiyan killed more than 6,300 people in November 2013. It is expected to hit the Philippine island of Luzon as a category 5 storm on Sunday. Philippine officials have already started evacuating coastal and landslide-prone communities.... To make matters worse, the Philippines has the second highest COVID-19 infections and deaths in Southeast Asian, next only to Indonesia. Please pray: - That God would divert the path of Typhoon Goni - That the evacuations would run smoothly - That there would be no loss of life and that loss of property would be minimal - That COVID-19 would not spread rapidly during this time - That the churches in the Philippines shine the light of Christ during this time - That churches can be a place of compassion and love - That emergency shelters and supplies will be ready In times of crisis, we know that Christ is already there. We pray for his love and wisdom to pour out during this time. We will monitor the situation and will give directions on how we can support financially and in prayers.
