Weekly Book Review: All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten by ROBERT FULGHUM... These are the things I learned (in Kindergarten): 1. Share everything. 2. Play fair. 3. Don't hit people. 4. Put things back where you found them. 5. CLEAN UP YOUR OWN MESS. 6. Don't take things that aren't yours. 7. Say you're SORRY when you HURT somebody. 8. Wash your hands before you eat. 9. Flush. 10. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. 11. Live a balanced life - learn some and drink some and draw some and paint some and sing and dance and play and work everyday some. 12. Take a nap every afternoon. 13. When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together. 14. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that. 15. Goldfish and hamster and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we. 16. And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK. You may never have proof of your importance but you are more important than you think. There are always those who couldnt do without you. The rub is that you dont always know who. It doesnt matter what you say you believe - it only matters what you do. Every person passing through this life will unknowingly leave something and take something away. Most of this something cannot be seen or heard or numbered or scientifically detected or counted. Its what we leave in the minds of other people and what they leave in ours. Memory. The census doesnt count it. Nothing counts without it.

For most of us, being in lockdown is not a holiday. However there are things we can do to pretend that we are on vacation, either by ourselves or with our family. One of my younger friends with small children, spread out plastic on their basement floor, put in a small sand box and a wading pool, with some beach umbrellas and pretended they were at the beach. Another family put a large sheet on the wall, they turned their couch into a car and they pretended to be at a drive-in. What are some ideas that you have to share for a pretend/imaginary/dream holiday . at home?

Book Review for this week: THE COMPLETE IDIOT'S GUIDE TO ORGANIZING YOUR LIFE by Georgene Lockwood... For any of you who dont know me well..I have severe ADHD and dyslexia Am I organized in any way?????????? I loved this book, my family hated it. While I was still reading it I started organizing and like a mean drill sargeant. I live with my kids, who do not collect things like books, music etc.. ( they want me to get rid of EVERYTHING) Along with this I have a Husky and 3 cats in my home. In the first few days I cleared 10 large garbage of stuff I had but didn't need. I think one of the main things this book stresses is not to be sentimental about things that really don't have a place in your life. The book was more about organizing, hence the title, but I ran with the clutter first. In clear, organized, simple terms, it taught me the concepts and skills I needed to organize my possessions - and to get rid of things I don't need. All in all, it is going to make my kids relate to me, unclutter my home and make me feel like having people over and entertaining more.

Book review for this week: Go Suck A Lemon: Strategies for Improving your Emotional Intelligence by Michael Cornwall... People are not disturbed by things; they are disturbed by their view of things. Emotional intelligence (EI) refers to the ability to perceive, control, and evaluate emotions. Some researchers suggest that emotional intelligence can be learned and strengthened, while others claim it is an inborn characteristic. EI has been defined as, "the subset of social intelligence that involves the ability to monitor one's own and others' feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them and to use this information to guide one's thinking and actions." "Go Suck A Lemon" hopes to provide readers with methods for improving emotional intelligence by offering cognitive skill building techniques, thereby helping to create a less self-defeating and more enriching experience when experiencing emotion. Keep up with your emotional intelligence gains! Get the Go Suck A Lemon APP! on Amazon.

Book Review for the week: Robert Schuller's TOUGH TIMES NEVER LAST BUT TOUGH PEOPLE DO I read this book many times, in whole or in part, and I think its one of the most positive books Ive ever read. I learned powerful lessons from it and I would love to share them with you. 1. People who Overcome Obstacles Never Stop Believing. According to Schuller, a large percentage of the individuals who transcend their problems are those who never stop believing. These individuals bel...ieve in themselves and The Creator. They often pray for guidance and they trust in the ideas the universe gives them. 2. Every Problem has a Limited Lifespan Schuller teaches that no problem lasts forever because youll always find a solution. According to Schuller, history is the best teacher of the fact that all our problems have a limited lifespan because all our past problems ended after a certain period. Therefore, just like our previous hardships, our current hurdles will come to an end. Storms always pave way for the sun, and winter always thaws into spring. Your storm will, therefore, pass Robert Schuller 3. Every Problem will Change You Schuller writes that an individual cannot emerge from a problem unchanged, because problems never leave us the way they found us. They make us stronger and enable us to realize our faults. 4. Ask God/Infinite Intelligence to Help you Solve your Problems According to Schuller, whenever we have problems, we must give God/Infinite Intelligence a chance to turn our problems into blessings. He also teaches that God/Infinite Intelligence will give you the strength to deal with your problems if you pray and stop exaggerating them. 5. Problems Disappear if we Dedicate All our Efforts to Solving Them Robert Schuller teaches that some of your problems never leave because you never dedicate all your energies to solving them. He believes that these problems will melt away if you use all your intelligence, abilities, and skills to solve them. 6. Never Discard an Idea because There is Something Wrong With It Robert Schuller teaches that there is no such thing as a perfect idea because all ideas have negative aspects. For this reason, we must never let these negative aspects prevent us from executing our ideas. Instead, we must focus on exploiting the positive aspects and sublimating the negative parts. See more

FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY (STEPS 4 and 5) 4 AFTER YOUVE COMPLETED A RISK, SAY TO YOURSELF, YES! I DID IT! WHATS MY NEXT RISK ? Youll find that each risk you complete makes you willing to expand further-and taking risks gets easier as time goes by. Remember, action builds confidence. 5 IMPORTANT TIP: IF YOURE FEELING HESITANT ABOUT TAKING A PARTICULAR RISK, REPEAT THE FOLLOWING AFFIRMATION OVER AND OVER GAIN: WHATEVER HAPPENS, ILL HANDLE IT! After many repetit...ions, try to take that risk again. If youre still unable to do so, just put it aside. Dont beat yourself up, but continue to recite the affirmation while you tackle other risks. Theres something subtly powerful about implanting positive thoughts into your head. When you tell yourself you can handle whatever happens, everything changes within and around you. You build a mountain of confidence from which to draw strength. One day youll notice that theres nothing stopping you from taking all the healthy risks you want. See more

step 3 of 5 SCHEDULE YOUR RISK OF THE DAY ON YOUR CALENDAR as you would any appointment which may be one of your risks! (a dental appointment for example).

LIFE Coaching with Christy 18.03.2020

FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY (step 2 0f 5) 2 EACH EVENING, PICK THE RISK YOU INTEND TO TAKE THE FOLLOWING DAY. If youre feeling particularly brave, you may want to take more than one. Or you may find yourself thinking of a new risk that isnt on the list. That counts - just add it on.

FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY (step 1 of 5) 1. THINK OF 14 RISKS YOU WOULD LIKE TO TAKE IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS ONE A DAY AND LIST THEM ON A SHEET OF PAPER. Remember they dont have to be major until youre ready for them to be. Begin with small steps and watch your self-assurance grow. If you cant come up with all 14 right away, just think of a few to get you started. Then, as you go through each day, notice what you are avoiding because of your fear, and add it to th...e list. Eventually youll identify 14, or more. Include risks from all areas of your life: career (making a cold sales call, asking for a raise or project); relationships (asking someone out for coffee); or just living( starting to exercise, learning to drive). These may even seem like big ones to you now. Dont worry. Start as small as you wish. As you continue to take a risk a day, soon the risks will seem more manageable. This exercise is taken from Susan Jeffers Book - FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY. My book pick for this week.

OUR BELIEFS AFFECT OUR SOCIALIZING I have had many days when I felt I was on the left side of this page. By seeing the words on the right side of the page and affirming to myself that those words are true, I can move forward on those days. I found this chart by accident but it has been very helpful.

Book Recommendation for this week: THE HAPPY BRAIN BY DEAN BURNETT Neuroscientist Dean Burnett dives into the squishy science and bubbly feelings of what happiness means... The pursuit of happiness is one of the most common and enduring quests of human life. Its what drives us to get a job, fall in love, watch stand-up comedy, have questionable obsessions and come home at the end of the day. But where does happiness come from, and why do we need it so much? Is lasting, permanent happiness possibleor should it be? And what does any of this have to do with the brain? Dean Burnett, bestselling author of The Idiot Brain, combines cutting-edge theories of the science of emotions with interviews of dozens of people on the happiness scale, from relationship coaches to celebrity millionaires, in an attempt to unveil what makes our happy-dometer tick. Witty and perceptive, humorous and enlightening, The Happy Brain explores a fascinating aspect of modern neuroscience and in the process discovers something about what it means to be human. See more

This weeks book recommendation: THE JOY OF NOT WORKING A practical and reliable guide to creating a space away from the workplace whether you are retired, unemployed, bored or overworked. the author uses activities, quotes, cartoons to hold your interest. People who do what they like..... are usually happier than those that don't.... I'm one of those (forced) retirees who need to work for an above survival income. This book is one that helps me set my priorities and I have found a work that I love. It does not pay the dollars that I was making, but I am 1000 times happier.
