Stop following the ‘rules’ of marketing if they aren’t working for you. Sharing your business should feel natural and enjoyable. If you’re following any tips, tricks or industry-standard guidelines that feel soul-sucking then STOP! Being honest, open and organic is the best way to engage current and potential clients. If you feel insincere or unenthusiastic your audience will too. . .... . . See more

Step two of brand cohesion Discover your brand voice and shout it from the rooftops! Brand voice can sound like your typical ‘marketing speak’ but actually it’s crucial to your business! Brand voice essentially means your style of communicating with clients and the business persona you want to show off to the world. Words, verbiage and style of communication are important to help you show off the values and persona you want your business to be associated with. Some things to... consider: X Brand voice can be tricky to clarify and can sometimes feel overwhelming. It’s best to start with some general words that you want your brand to be associated with. Are you fun and easy-going? Do you want to seem like the professional expert? Make a list of words you want associated with your brand and start building your voice. X How do you want clients to feel when they interact with your brand? Are you all about being the ‘friendly neighbourhood service provider’ that people know and love? Or do you love showing off your cutting-edge service offerings, always surprising clients with a new idea? Decide on the impact you want to give your clients and infuse your voice with this concept. The goal here is to decide on a consistent way of communicating with your potential and current clients that shows off the personality of your brand. You want to make a certain business impression on the world and a cohesive brand voice will help you do just that! . . . .

Final step of brand cohesion Take stock of the assets across the board and get updating! So you’ve considered your look + your brand voice and have made some decisions for a consistent brand that your clients will love. What next? Now it’s time to do the work of getting ALL your brand assets unified!... Things to check: - Remember the online presence review we suggested in week two? Now is the time to get things updated. Launch new social media banners and profile pictures with your new look and update the biographies with your current brand voice. * Have some fun with this! Make a big deal of the updates and announce it to your clients through your social channels! They’ll want to celebrate your new look with you. - Throw things out! It’s time to get rid of those old business cards, service pamphlets and stationery you’ve been using that is no longer on brand. We know it can hurt to get rid of print media, but it is NOT worth it to keep using materials that are not on brand just because you want to not waste them. You’ve put in the effort for a great brand look, now you deserve to show it off cohesively in your print media. - Check out your website and get creative. Your website should look and sound exactly as you want to be perceived. This can be a huge job, but start small with revamping your Homepage with an aligned brand voice and updated photography that is one theme. * These can be big jobs to do alone but we’re here if you need us. Give us a call at any time and we’ll help get your brand unified so you feel confident moving forward! . . . .
