Any patients with pending appointments will be contacted and rescheduled to a later date. We will provide regular updates as we get more information from the provincial Public Health Department. We will still be taking new referrals at this time with appointments determined by guidance from Public Health. Lifestyle Physiotherapy would like to inform the public and their patients that we are preparing to re-open for June 08, 2020. We are working to re-schedule patients that were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we are also accepting new referrals for future appointments. There will be protocols in place to enure the safety of out patients and staff once we resume operations. Patients will be screened for COVID-19 with reminder calls/texts/emails for their appointent.... Patients will also be screened when they arrive for their appointments. Patients and staff will be required to wear a protective mask and it will be the patients responsibility to bring their own mask. We will have disposable masks onsite, if required, for a charge of $2.00. Handwashing/sanitizing stations will be available and will need to be used before and after each appointment by every patient and all staff. Room sanitization will be done after each treatment and then left for 30 minutes to allow the disinfectant to work prior to the next time it is used. When possible, we will use our parking lot as our wating room. Patients will notify us when they arrive and will wait in their car until we notify them to enter for their appointment. We understand that this may not be possible for everyone and those unable to wait in their car can use our wating area, where chairs are distanced 6 feet apart. We encourage people to try use the parking lot in this situation. Scheduling has been adjusted to reduce the number of people in our clinic at one time. We are so excited to be resuming operations and getting back to providing patient care, which we have all truly missed over the last 10 weeks. If you wish to make an appointment or have any questions, feel free to contact us 256-4839 [email protected] www.lifestylephysiotherapy.ca Stay safe and be healthy! We are just over 4 weeks into the Public Health Emergency for our province due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The reported new cases have been fewer over the last week, which is a sign that our social distancing measures appear to be working. It is so important that we all continue to practice this now more than ever so that we do not see further clusters occur in the future and hopefully gain some control over the spread of this virus (hopefully we all stuck to this process ove...r the Easter weekend!). The front line workers for essential services need to be commended on their effort and dedication throughout this whole process! Without them, this would be a lot worse than it is. Im sure people are getting a little cabin fever (I know we are)! This can take its toll on everyones physcial and mental health. One of the best things to help keep you physically and mentally healthy is exercise! With the weather changing (for the better), outside acitivities such as walking, running, gardening, etc. are awesome, as the fresh air is certainly of benefit (please remember to abide by the social distancing regulations). If you are not able to get outside, there are many exercise/activities that can be done at home. The attached link from ACE fitness is an excellent resource for exercise at home and a lot do not require any equipment! On the left hand side of the ACE fitness page you can select exercise by experience. It is very important that you choose activity that best suits you in your present condition so as to get the best benefit and prevent injury. Remember that doing an exercise correctly is far more important that how many repetitions you can complete. Happy exercising everyone and stay safe!!

We all need to do out part to "flatten the curve" of Covid-19 so we can get some normalcy back to our daily routines. Most important, stay safe everyone!

This is an excellent blog from our friends at Rethinking Physio and the Physio Network. It concentrates on recovery from running injuries but is an example of recovery from any type of injury associated with activity! More effective rehab will occur with modification of activity instead of elimination of activity. Treatment is truly efficient when you are able to receive treatment and progress recovery while still participating in what you love to do!

These people are the absolute best! There are a few missing and a few are leaving for another chapter. They are why I absolutely love to go to work everyday! Patient care is so much more effective when you have a team that works well with each and care about what they do at work! Cheers to all of you!! #greatworklife #physiotherapy

Here are some exercises that may help with Tennis Elbow (lateral epicondylitis). If they dont improve or even irritate your symptoms, you may need an assessment to evaluate biomechanics, neural tension, muscle balance, and coordination from your neck/upper back to your wrist and hand.

Lifestyle Physiotherapy 31.12.2019

This is a great image, from the Physio Network, of how the personalization of patient education is so important to provide effective care. The article it references indicates that explanation based on anatomy and diagnosis alone trends toward the overuse of diagnostic imaging. Prognosis, prevention, self management and how it fits into the patients daily life leads to much more efficient treatment and better results in recovery and management.
