PEN Out Loud: All voices, all people PEN America’s annual Out Loud program focuses on amplifying diverse voices and convening vital conversations with authors, poets, journalists, artists, and activists, and this year’s slate of writer events reflects that goal. Featured scribes include R.O. Kwon, Garth Greenwell, Brandon Hobs ji on, Rebecca Makkai, Kazuo Ishiguro, and Isabel Allende; events commence February 9.

Later today I will be doing something a little different - sharing my own story. The documentary is being released! This is terrifying to say the least. I did n...ot think it was possible to have more respect for my clients who share their brave stories, but after going through the process myself I now understand how it feels. It’s not easy! I chose a documentary to share my story because I love film. I also had the opportunity to work with a generous and talented human, Roman Price. He made it fun. He also reminded me of my 10 year-old self, enthusiastically running around with a VHR camera. I am truly grateful that Life to Paper is now helping people tell their stories through film. Today I am surprising a new client with a Christmas gift. He will receive a short documentary of him and his grandfather as a bonus for signing a life story book contract. When he told me about his 91 year-old, Italian nonno, I instantly fell in love. I can’t wait to see their stories told together on film! Stay tuned for my documentary release!
