LONG & SERIOUS POST AHEAD I’m glad I can still smile! Photos are to show that you are in charge of your life. You decide what will add fuel to your fire, or you allow it to break you down. 5 years ago, I went through something traumatic. I have told people this story IRL, but I have never spoken about it via social media. I think I’m ready. I was walking home from work from the bus stop in my area, EARLIER than I usually would. I was happy to be off early it was about m...idnight-12:30AM. I usually didn’t finish work until 2-4AM. While heading home, I had someone grab me from behind; like they would in a movie and put a gun to my head. Yup. This is real life. At this moment you would expect me to freeze....instead I became such a LOUD PERSON. I started yelling at him WTF ARE YOU DOING? (LOL). He wanted my phone. Well at this point, I had to buss my ass for that phone so I said NO. I was able to get loose from his grips, run, stay alive & keep my phone. Thank God. Thank my angels watching over me. Thank myself for being such a strong ass person. Holy. Right now, I’m working away thinking about this moment & how I still have fears walking at night, or how I prefer to not go anywhere alone once it’s dark. It sucks, but I try my best to not let it stop me from living (some days are harder than others). It has costed me a lot in Taxis, Uber’s & Lyfts since...but I am so thankful to be alive & to be able to tell my story. What to take from this? Anything can happen to anyone at anytime. It doesn’t matter what colour you are, what gender you are, or how old you are. Life is unexpected & you need to always be prepared for that unexpected, unfortunately. Also, never let a past situation stop you from continuing on your journey. Always use it to learn, & grow. Things may feel like they will never get better, but it’s you who must work through them internally so that you can ease any pain & trauma. Everything takes time, & it’s hard I’m here for anyone who needs to vent, or anyone who needs an ear to listen. Feel free to Share this post.
