Samantha and Prada Samantha needed a quick session. Her companion and one of her best friends, will soon be needing to say farewell. The only downfall of owning dogs is we never know how much time we have with them, yet every second of their day they love us with everything that they are.... What a privilege it is to be loved by a dog. Christmas is tough for so many, let alone needing to part ways with one of your best friends. We don't deserve dogs, never will we feel from anything else the unconditional love that they bless us with. Sam, if I could give you more time with Prada I would. Grief I have learned is really just love. It's all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in the hollow part of your chest. Grief, is love with no place to go. -Jamie Anderson

This family is beautiful. I have been capturing them for as long as I can remember. Growth comes in all forms. Love grows. Family size grows.... Photography skill grows.... Thankfully. Here is one of my favourite family's through the years, and I am so thankful she wanted this image recreated. I secretly hold out hope that her husband will want another wee baby as Sian is one of the women whom I envision the motherhood definition was defined after. She is one of the greats. I also cannot wait to capture this image when Sian has grandchildren in the far far future, and so forth. What an honour that she has allowed me this beautiful privilege of allowing me to photograph them. See more

As artists I feel we need to keep pulling from deep within. Who are we? What fills our souls and most importantly what is our message trying to say in our art. I have learned from some of the greatest people, and as I have moved down my list of people of whose tools I have wanted in my box. I can honestly say I am slowly finding me as an artist. There is slowly a feeling of peace washing over me, and I feel content.... I have been asking myself a lot lately, what style of images do I want to portray me. Simple portraits that breathe emotion, images that evoke something within the viewer, and also make the subject love these for eternity. With this being said, I feel the big pouffy dresses are no longer me, I am not going to say I will never use one again, but I don't want my work to be about pouffy dresses. In the far far future - I want my images to pulled from the photo albums and the outfits to be timeless, when you brush your fingers over the faces I want bursts of emotion to wash over you as you view your ancestors and for the image to speak about you. This woman in this image is one of my all time favourite persons on this planet. My connection with my camera has always been majestic with Sian and truly when I photograph her, I feel heartstrings pulled and I feel my work. Sian exudes motherhood, she is a nurturer, she is love, she is kindness and she is one of the loveliest human beings that I have ever had the privilege of meeting. A long time ago, I photographed her baby and her and the piece was published in a motherhood book. Once again, Sian in her state of doing what she does best. Loving her people, and breathing one of her babies in.
