Little Bears Preschool Kelowna

Last week we used a rubber mallet to hammer golf tees into this pumpkin. This week, we could see evidence the pumpkin was beginning to decay as the holes the golf tees had left were turning white. We wondered what it would look like inside and how we could open it up. It was decided we would smash it to look at the insides. The easiest way to smash it was to drop it from a high height. We guessed whether it would just crack open or break into a million pieces. The children w...ere so excited to see what would happen! After the pumpkin smash, we poked through it and examined the different parts of the pumpkin up close. Some of the children took the opportunity to bury pumpkin seeds around the preschool play yard. I wonder if we will have some pumpkins sprout next year....

It was mittens and hats at first today but later this morning 7 out of the 8 children decided they wanted to feel the sand squish between their toes while they searched for burried treasure (painted rocks)
