As most of you know, London Cat Clinic has not endorsed or participated in declawing cats for many years. As of today - the Cat Friendly Practice affiliation has wholeheartedly endorsed the decision to end declawing and it is now a requirement of being a "Cat Friendly Practice". We have many resources for those who would like help in making the decision to say "NO" to declawing. Please call or email for more information.

This past Saturday, there was a misprint in a Toronto newspaper that suggested Veterinary Clinics will be only providing "urgent care" during a lockdown. To alleviate your fears, this is not the case. So in the improbable event that London will be in lockdown, our clinic will remain open for all your needs.

Hi all! As of this coming Tuesday May 19, we are now able to offer regular appointments, in addition to urgent care, as per the provincial government phase 1. Please call us if we have postponed your routine care or surgeries. We will still be practicing physical distancing for the foreseeable future, for the safety of all. Due to our small exam rooms and reception areas, and to simplify maintaining strict hygiene, for now, we will still be using the drop off scenario you... have become accustomed to. We are changing things up a bit with the drop-off being in our vestibule, to improve distancing between people. All touch surfaces will be wiped between appointments and thus we will be booking appointments spaced out a bit more than usual. We may also admit cases, for a short time, that require diagnostics or treatments, in order to facilitate physical distancing between staff and also patients. We will be communicating with you either during or shortly after the appointment, by phone, to get a history as well as update you on findings and plans, and to get consent. Please bring a cell phone with you - you are welcome to wait in the car or you may go home and we can call you there. We are open 8 am to 6 pm, Mon to Fri, closing from 1 to 2 pm for lunch. We will be scheduling appointments for this coming week as follows: Tues May 19: 9 to noon Wed May 20: 2 to 6 pm Thurs May 21: 9 to noon and 2 to 6 pm Fri May 22: 9 to noon The following weeks, our schedule will add: Mon: 2 to 6 pm. Fri: 2 to 6 pm. ** Additional times are available for appointments as needed, so please enquire if this doesn't work or an emergency comes up. ** We are also mandated still to restrict physical contact as much as possible and will be continuing to offer Telemedicine (phone or video) for select cases or if it is deemed too risky to bring your cat in, either due to your increased risk or ours. Please enquire if you prefer this option. See more

COVID-19 Keeping all of you are healthy and safe is our priority. To keep this brief, we wanted to update you on our current protocol at London Cat Clinic: 1) We have increased our cleaning protocols, especially to cover the public areas, including door handles, debit machines, chairs/tables and washrooms. As it is already ingrained for us to offer ongoing infection control, we are just ramping this up from our normal protocols. 2) We ask that if you: a) are sick with ...any signs suggestive of COVID-19 - cough, fever, difficulty breathing. b) have travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days c) or have been in contact with someone with signs of COVID-19 (either diagnosed or suspicious) ***that you contact our clinic before coming in and we can discuss options. These may include triaging your pet, a phone consultation rather than an examination in person, having someone else bring the cat in for you or admitting the cat from the vehicle directly by our trained personnel. 3) We have instituted a hand washing protocol on arrival to the clinic, for PRIOR to your appointment or purchase and ALSO upon finishing the appointment PRIOR to paying bill. Please ask at reception if unsure and we can direct you to where you can wash your hands. 4) If at all possible, limit the number of people that come to the appointment. Try to keep 3 to 6 feet between yourself and other clients/staff/pets. If we are running behind, you may prefer to wait in your car. We may ask you to keep 3 to 6 feet of distance during the appointment, by staying just outside the doorway for history taking and perhaps waiting in reception area for the examination time, as we have very small exam rooms. 5) If possible, please pay by debit or credit rather than cash. If you have any other questions prior to your appointment, please call ahead. Thank-you for understanding - we are trying to keep every one safe. See more
