Hi Folks With big regrets we must confirm the closure of the Winter Wonder Festival in Gibbons . The decision to abandon this project falls SOLELY on the True Start owners and operators . In my humble opinion I think they simply did the math and made the call to shut it down . We witnessed low traffic volumes 6 out of 7 days a week . Cold weather added was ultimately the nail in their coffin . They couldn’t operate in these low temperatures and they knew it is my opinion. ... It’s easy to blame others for your failure but we did all we could to help them along until we smelled a rat . Yes , we demanded to be paid . We’d been waiting since Oct 1 and not a pennys rent paid and a pile of related invoices ignored . Nobody was forced to do anything.. especially close . Tonight all lights are still on and we had removed all the snow . True Start still decided to walk rather than open tomorrow morning. We hope everyone gets a full refund not a tax receipt. We have no idea how many tickets have been sold but understand none of this is acceptable to those who have spent their hard earned dollars on an admission ticket that’s good for nothing . Please understand we contributed all we could for as long as we could and apologize for any inconvenience or financial strife this may have caused anyone . They have your money .. we don’t . Good luck to all and despite this mess have a Merry Christmas .
