Meet the geese of the farm. She is the child of a pair of geese we got from Perry Farm 8 years ago. Her parents have since died. She was alone and bullied by our rooster. We recently got a gander from The Rise Farm . It looks like they are getting along and make a nice couple.
Edible Ottawa, March 2021 @edibleottawa I'm excited to share this piece on ginger from Edible Ottawa, which features several farms, including Long Road (article: @freshfromthegarden, photos: @suzy_lamont ). Along with discussing our ginger production, the article touches on some of my life story. Happy reading. .... #growyourownginger #growgingerincanada See more

Farmers help farmers. Canada has such a long winter , sooner or later we would run out of our own veggies or pork. Many thanks to other farms and local businesses for helping keep Farm Sum Food going through these years, especially: Veggies: @fiddleheadfarmpec @patchworkgardens_kingston @rootsdownorganic Flour: @sonsetfarm @taranaturalfoods ... New life starts. The joy of growing ginger, or growing anything. Hope you all enjoy the new life cycle of the indoors seedling season. #growyourownginger #farmsum #dimsum #wholesum #infrontenac
Feeling very humbled to represent Frontenac farms, to be featured in the farm-to-table campaign by Tourism Kingston and the Frontenac County. Thank you Andrea for this beautifully-written piece about our story.
It's been nine months since last MC market when customers and vendors were able to meet face to face. Here is a reminder of how I look :) This week is our last participation of @memorialmarket online store for the year. I want to thank numerous people, whether those I know, or someone I haven't had a chance to meet in person, for your support to help carry this little business forward over this challenging year. I very much look forward to 2021, a better one in many ways.
@memorialmarket online store opens Tuesdays 12pm. . #farmsum #dimsum #wholesum #infrontenac #ygkfood
Beautiful "Music" variety cloves going to the ground. Large porcelain white, easy to peel, great flavour, which @frank.at.home kindly offered seven seasons ago. At that time, we even didn't know garlic is supposed to be planted in the fall. . #lovegarlic #farmsum #dimsum #wholesum
A bag of mixed colors available for the winter season. Order from @memorialmarket on Tuesday. Red (beets), Orange (butternut squash), green (spinach or kale). . #farmsum #dimsum #wholesum

Pig video, part I (baby version). The video was taken back in April. Recompiled to include the funny moments. Enjoy! Check back again to see how they behave nowadays. They are still naughty! #farmpigs ... #farmsum #dimsum #wholesum #infrontenac See more
Thanks County of Frontenac and photographer Braden of Make Hay Media for making this wonderful video to promote our local farming community. Enjoy watching Tomorrow I will join Becky and Mark at Maple Ridge Farm to have a zoom meeting with a bunch of school kids. We will discuss raising animals on a small farm.
Ginger contains very potent anti-inflammatory compounds called gingerols. Gingerols, have been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells as well as being an effective pain reliever for arthritis sufferers. Ginger has a long history of being very effective at alleviating gastrointestinal distress and motion sickness, especially seasickness. Use the very aromatic leaves in tea (fresh or dried) and use the stalks to flavor the cooking liquid for rice, pasta, quinoa, and soups.... Cut the stalks into 2" to 3" pieces and use fresh or freeze for later use. Be sure to remove the stalks before serving your dish. Contact us directly or visit @memorialmarket online store if you interested in plants and fresh ginger (with stalk and leaves). . #ginger #freshginger #babyginger #growyourownginger #growgingerincanada #farmsum #dimsum #wholesum #infrontenac #organicfarming
