Upcycle It! Sometimes when items like this candle candle can't be recycled due to the type of glass they're made of we can easily upcycle them into something new ourselves. Simply place the used up candle in your freezer over night to shrink the wax - then it will easily pop out!... Next - remove any stickers or wraps and paint it your desired colour and voila! You have a new planter!

Recycle Tip Tuesday! How do you know if a plastic item is recyclable? Follow these three guidelines to help you decide if it belong in your blue bin or not.

Did you indulge in some online shopping over the holidays? Please remember that these bubble mailers are sadly not recyclable. They are re-useable though! Keep them aside for when you're sending a little gift to a friend in the mail.

Ever wonder what happens to your recycling? We collect & bale the materials - then we send them to Saskatoon to be sorted into individual material types & baled again. These bales get sent out all over North America for the materials to be made into something new!

Trash Tip Tuesday! Plush toys like these do not belong in your blue recycling cart. Please take items like these to a local thrift shop (if they still have lots of life left in them like this little guy!) Or if they are at the end of their toy life please discard them as waste.

TRASH TIP TUESDAY Election season is over in SK and sadly these chloroplast signs are not recyclable. Please do not put these signs in your blue recycling cart or steel bin. You can always hang on to them as your candidate may run again in the future!

Happy fun find Friday - this one is a throwback! Sadly this old iMac is not recyclable in your blue bin/cart. It can be easily recycled at our Recycle My Electronics drop off at the Batteford Transfer Station!

Happy Trash Tip Thursday! A camping season has come to and end here in SK please take items like these to a second hand store so they can have a second life! This cooler is not made of recyclable plastics and was damaged beyond use when compacted in our truck :(
