It is with deep sadness that we learn of the passing of Sgt. (Retd) Bruce Brady, CD MBA. Bruce passed away this weekend at his home in Dawson Creek, BC. Bruce is survived by his wife Ann and his two children Taryn and Parker. Bruce was a long time member of C Company in Georgetown. As a mortarman, he was on the retirement shoot for the mortars in 2002. A celebration of life is planned to be held at the Georgetown Armoury, time and date to be confirmed. #LornescotsRA
This Saturday is the big event!! Just a couple housekeeping items below: -The event is at North Halton Curling Club, located at 363 Maple Ave W, Georgetown. - There is a lounge area where all your fans and friends can watch. - The cost is $25 per curler or $100 per team. ... - It is a Cash bar and bring money for a draw to the button competition. - Please bring a pair of rubber soled shoes for the ice (not outdoor shoes if possible). - Participants are required to complete a waiver, so arrive early (suggested arrival is 11:30am). - There will be Pizza and salad available for lunch. Members of the Lorne Scots are currently taking part in the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Italian Campaign, in a composite band of Reserve and Regular force members. Today they participated in a service just outside Cassino, Italy.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sgt (Ret) Chris Cadorin, CD, who passed away Tuesday after a hard fought battle with Cancer. Visitation will take place Monday 26 Aug from 1400-1600hrs and 1900-2100hrs at Mckersie-Kocher funeral home, 114 Main St East, Milton Ontario. The funeral will take place Tuesday 27 Aug at 1100hrs at Holy Rosary Church, 139 Martin St. Milton, Ontario.... Our deepest condolences to his wife Mary Ellen, sons Gianni and Luca in these difficult times.

A message from Rosemary Harrison; Please convey to all the members of the Regimental Association. I would like to extend my families sincerest thanks to all of you, for your notes, prayers, donations and hugs of condolence regarding the sudden loss of my husband Major (Retd.) John H. (Jack) Harrison, CD3. It has been a difficult time for the family but with all the amazing support we have received we will survive.... Jack gave so much of his time and energy to helping others and bringing out the best in everyone he met. Our hearts are full from the love and support we have received from his many colleagues, regimental family and friends. Air Son Ar Duthchais. Rosemary.

The plans for the service have now been confirmed, so it is no longer necessary to confirm your attendance or wish to serve as an honorary pallbearer. A big congratulations to the Peel team on their second consecutive victory! After a hard fought final game, the Peel team was able to handily claim victory. A major thank you to Jackie Dunn and the Dunn family for their continued support in this tournament. We are also thankful for Olivier Garceau and the entire cooking team for what was an exceptional meal! ... The softball players werent the only ones having fun today! The bouncy castle provided by Affair Party rentals was well enjoyed, as was the park and tee ball area! A big thank you to Rick and the whole team at Affairs Party rentals for providing everything we needed to be well shaded, cook with and entertain with. #LorneScotsAR
A friendly reminder to the attendees for Saturdays softball tournament... - Current metrep is 22 and sunny, so bring your sunscreen! - Shade is a premium, so consider bringing a sun umbrella! - Lunch will be provided but dont forget to stay hydrated with plenty of water! Red solo cups are a great idea for water alternatives.... - Lawn chairs are recommended - This is a child friendly event, so bring the kids and the grand kids! - Dont forget the leash free dog area nearby Please take photos and use the hashtag #LorneScotsRA to keep our memories closely tied together!
