Winning Category: International Hotel How does it feel to be a Restaurant & Bar Design Awards winner? It is an amazing honour to have our project LOUIX LOUIS recognized on the international stage by our peers and colleagues. We were in great company for the competition. Our team and client is extremely pleased to be part of this years awesome selection of winning entries. What do you think made your project win? I think the attention to detail, richness of the palette, and the grandeur of the overall space was impressive. Lighting, and the custom ceiling mural by Canadian artist Madison van Rijn, and the overall warmth of the experience really bring a sense of intimacy and sense of place within a single space. What are your plans for the near future in terms of Food & Beverage space design? We have a lot of really great projects on the drawing boards. We are currently in the midst of redesigning all the F&B venues at the Ritz Carlton Toronto, working on all the F&B venues for the Andaz hotel in Toronto with local operator King Street Food Company, and we’ve just completed an overhaul of some of the F&B venues for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. We are proud to announce that LOUIX LOUIS was awarded the ‘Best International Hotel Design’ at the 2019 Restaurant & Bar Design awards. Located on the 31st floo...r of The St. Regis Toronto the glowing amber of the interior draws inspiration from Canada’s history of manufacturers of distilled whisky, the decadent spirit of the turn of the 19th Century, as well as the grand hotel bars of France and America.
