This piece was commissioned by a client who lives in the USA, but whose childhood home, portrayed here, is in Argentina. Final framed size, 12x24". I think I used all the techniques I know in this piece! :) AND... I forgot to get a proper photo of it before packing it up and sending it off. Sigh.

From 2018. I’m so looking forward to the next World of Threads Festival! Ps, these three hangings are now sold.

I was commissioned to create this piece, Healing Heart, a 30" fabric wall hanging, for the new Redleaf Women and Family Healing Centre in Minneapolis, MN. It has arrived and awaits special framing (for public spaces, fireproofing and so on...). I can't wait to see it in situ! Will share when the images come in. It's exciting to be part of this amazing new centre that caters specifically to women and families in crisis, and with a visionary organization that acknowledges the healing power of art. https://redleaffamilyhealing.org

Woven Woods at Saskatchewan Craft Council. Such a beautiful display. Thank you, Leah and Maia, and all the others who helped make it work so well! Wish I could see it in person.

Join us at 11 a.m. in Room 213 (or virtually) for a special Redeemer Reads event that also includes a visual art presentation! Greg Kennedy and Lorraine Roy will be joining us over Zoom to share their work. Lorraine Roy is a full-time professional artist working in textiles. Her formal education in the Sciences provides ongoing inspiration for her realistic and abstract portrayals of trees and nature. Since acquiring a B.Sc. in Ornamental Horticulture, Lorraine has gone on to... study many other aspects of tree science, tree lore and tree symbolism, all of which inform her art. She lives in Dundas, Ontario. Greg Kennedy SJ is a Jesuit priest working in spirituality and ecology at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre in Guelph, Ontario. He is author of three books, including Reupholstered Psalms, which features Lorraine Roy’s fabric art and, most recently, Amazing Friendships Between Animals and Saints, illustrated by Guelph artist, Kerry Wilson. https://www.redeemer.ca//redeemer-reads-poet-greg-kennedy/
