We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Lead Bartender / Mixologist to join our team! The ideal candidate should be able to create classic cocktails and innovative beverages that exceed our expectations. You will be in charge of serving guests at the bar while also handling drink orders from other areas, managing the cash drawer at the bar, and stock taking at the end of the shift. Duties & Responsibilities... Oversee the preparation and presentation of cocktails for tour groups and patrons Prepare quality cocktails that meet set standards Evaluate a patrons preferences and make suggestions. Assist in planning and presenting the bar menu. Prepare ingredients for cocktails such as bitters, syrups and garnishes. Restock bar inventory and supplies. Follow Smart Serve protocols and Confirm customers’ identification to ensure it meets the legal drinking age. Monitor cleanliness and hygiene of the bar area and equipment as per the company’s rules and the requirements of the local health department. Ensure adherence to cash management and stock control procedures * Qualifications & Requirements A passion for cocktail culture Diploma in hospitality/tourism and/or a bartender/mixologist certificate In-depth knowledge of creating, mixing, garnishing, and serving beverages. Knowledge of spirit types and their uses within creating cocktails. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of a second language is a plus. Positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked, and tidy. Smart Serve Certificate Experience in the management of a bar or beverage service operation. Knowledge of business management principles and practices Knowledge of basic accounting procedures Complete working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage

This info will be available at the entrance as well: The Niagara-on-the-Lake Town Council passed a bylaw requiring Face Coverings to be worn indoors at public places (BY-LAW NO. 5248-20). We would like to remind customers that face coverings should be worn if they are entering the store. Our current staff protocols meet the bylaw requirements, as for our retail staff wear face coverings, so there is no ch...ange to staff policy regarding Face Coverings. Face Shield, masks and personal cloth masks are permitted. NEW RELEASE - GIN! FREE TASTINGS THIS WEEKEND!! We are so excited to share with you our gin release that we are offering free tastings at the distillery this weekend! Our secret combination of botanicals was placed in the pot for steeping prior to disti...llation. Once the perfect amount of steeping was completed, the botanicals were distilled directly in the pot. Bright notes of sweet citrus zest, baking spice, pine-like juniper with just enough coriander to be well balanced with some bold complexities. Our pot-distilled Gin is smooth and rich, perfect for sipping, or mixed (shaken or stirred) with your favorite cocktail.

Updates!! With the summer approaching quickly, we thought we would provide you with a little written update (Not related to Sanitizer) and this photo of a beautiful Virgil summer sunset! THE FUTURE OF OUR RETAIL SHOP - Although alcohol is considered an essential service and we technically could be open, we are taking the time to plan on opening back up the shop SAFELY!! We have begun remodeling the shop and have to say it has a "1920's behind the counter candy shop, feel". W...e are really excited to share our new look with you! We are still working on reviewing all recommendations from the province, securing PPE, and implementing ALL safety measures. We will not be opening until they are all in place. For now, we will continue to offer PICK UP only and will keep you informed on when you can come by the "NEW" retail shop v2020! NEW PRODUCTS - We have 3 new products in the works - a white rye, gin and the third is a flavoured moonshine we will keep a secret for now!! We are so close to finalizing our Gin recipe and hope to have that to you very soon. Our white rye is in line to distill now, after a few more batches of sanitizer, so we anticipate having that VERY soon!! We hope everyone is staying safe!!
