(Al-Baqarah 2:156) Dear Brothers and Sisters, This morning the Muslim Association of Canada issued a public statement condemning the terrorist attack on Mosques in New Zealand. Please share among your communities. The attack on New Zealand’s Muslim community in the city of ChristChurch is a tragedy and has left Muslims around the world in shock and grief. The Canadian Muslim community has experienced such hate first hand in the Quebec City shooting. At such difficult times of brutal and tragic loss of life, we should demonstrate leadership and call for strength, tolerance and unity. We should be resilient and offer support to the youth in our communities. Such attacks of terror should strengthen our commitment to our faith and we should continue to connect with other communities and faith-groups to stand against hate. The Honourable Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has condemned the attacks, saying the attack on people during prayers is absolutely appalling. We encourage you to contact your local elected officials to express concern about the escalation of Islamophobia in Canada and across the world. We have called on all of our mosques, schools and Islamic centres to be vigilant in the coming days and months. Our management has been instructed to contact local police services offer increased protection to ensure the safety of congregations at Friday prayer today. Al-Huda Weekend school in Ajax is looking for a qualified and dedicated Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Quran teachers to start working in September, 2018. Location: 1375 Harwood Ave N., Ajax. Hours: Saturdays 9.30am - 2.30pm. Qualifications: - Candidates must have sound knowledge of Standard Arabic and Arabic Grammar. Candidates should also have good command of the English language, and in general should be practicing to be a role model for our younger Muslim generations. For our Quran and Islamic studies position, candidates should also know proper tajweed and Quran recitation to teach our students, in addition to good command of the English language.
