Islamic Reminders November Monthly Topic: Quranic Reflections ... 6:17 Translation: If God touches you [Prophet] with affliction, no one can remove it except Him, and if He touches you with good, He has power over all things. (6:17) Allah is capable of removing and resolving any hardships that one may face, no matter how big or small. We are accustomed to associating hardship and harm to pain and suffering. However, these hardships may have put in place are for your own benefit in life and the hereafter. We do not know where the wisdom of Allah lies. He is the All-Knowing (SWT) and these pains that one may go through may be what is best and it is the bitter cure that will heal you. This is an important reminder to keep in mind the next time you face any challenge or obstacle in life.

Islamic Reminders November Monthly Topic: Quranic Reflections ... () Believe in Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and spend of that whereof He has made you trustees. And such of you as believe and spend (in Allâh's Way), theirs will be a great reward. (Surah Al-Hadid 57, verse 7) Addressing the believers, Allah SWT is telling them to have full conviction in their belief in Allah SWT and His Messenger SAWS; and to spend from their wealth. But Allah SWT does not directly say spend from their wealth, He says to spend from what they have been entrusted with. This highlights a strong importance on how Muslims should view the wealth in their hands. We can not view our wealth as being earned independently. Our wealth is earned by the will of our Provider and we are entrusted with it to use it and dispose of it that is only pleasing to Him. Our wealth is viewed as a responsibility that we have, in that we don’t use it to buy unlawful things, we don’t lend it on riba, and we make sure to give the due rightful share for those in need. Based on our full conviction and trust with Allah SWT, we should never feel our wealth is decreasing when meeting these obligations.

The French government’s statements and actions curbing Muslim religious freedoms in the name of the nation's freedom and security, or protecting its values, is ...Islamophobic and will feed racial hatred towards Muslims. The Muslim community in Canada and all over the world were deeply offended by these statements. The Muslim community also feels that these comments will incite hatred and Islamophobic actions against them in Canada. https://www.middleeasteye.net//france-samuel-paty-murder-m

... " ". Abu Dharr reported that Allah's Messenger () said: There is no believing servant who supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence) that the Angels do not say: The same be for you too. We are often so caught up in our own stresses and goals that we become the focal point of our duas and often forget to make duaa for those around us. This hadith highlights the beauty of making dua for our brothers and sisters, as the angels will respond with an ameen and with a dua for us to receive something of a similar caliber. The beauty of remembering our brothers and sisters in our duaa allows us to to build a relationship in which we are always hoping for the best for our brother or sister in Islam, even when they are unaware of it and without asking for anything in return. We do get something amazing in return for these dua, an angel asking for the same good thing to be provided for us as well.

Why we should participate in blood donations ? " " The best people are those who are most beneficial to other people .... It is safe to donate. Your donations can help save lives. To ensure we continue to meet the needs of our patients, we need everyone who is eligible and healthy to continue to book and honour their appointments to donate blood. The need is constant for blood, stem cells, plasma and organ and tissue donors. Make blood donation an exception if you’re limiting interactions in response to COVID-19. Our donation sites are places of wellness. Only healthy people are eligible to donate blood. As we would for flu symptoms or other illnesses, we ask donors to stay at home if they are not feeling well, since only healthy people are eligible to donate blood. We have robust cleaning and infection-control practices and strict screening measures in place to ensure the safety of donors, staff and volunteers. Our community relies on us to keep the blood system safe and we take this responsibility very seriously. Sign up here: https://bit.ly/32fHDhs

Islamic Reminders November Monthly Topic - Quranic Reflections ... (53)). Say, O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful. (39:53) Many people when they sin, they tend to think that Allah swt isn’t going to forgive their sin. And with that mindset, they go deeper and deeper into sinning and repeating the same mistake. We are all sinners, but the best sinners are those repent often. Messenger of Allah () said, "Allah has divided mercy into one hundred parts; and He retained with Him ninety-nine parts, and sent down to earth one part. Through this one part creatures deal with one another with compassion, so much so that an animal lifts its hoof over its young lest it should hurt it".

... " " . 'Abdullah b. Umar reported Allah's Apostle () as saying: The finest act of goodness is that a person should treat kindly the loved ones of his father. The Prophet (pbuh) stresses on the importance of gaining the ridaa (satisfaction) of parents in many occasions. However, in this occasion, the Prophet (pbuh) stresses on respecting and treating the friends of his/her father in a goodly manner. If we think deeply about this we will realize that the Prophet (pbuh) emphasized this goodly manner not only to respect human beings in general, but to make sure we place our fathers in the most respected level they deserve with whatever actions we take, even if it is as simple as treating their friends with benevolence.

( 49:10) Translation: the believers ar...e brothers, so make peace between your two brothers and be mindful of God, so that you may be given mercy. This verse is addressing 3rd parties to a conflict and it does not tell them to get involved ‘when’ there is a problem but rather, immediately it tells them to reconcile matters with the assumption that problems will happen. It is normal for Muslims to have conflicts with each other but when those conflicts turn severe, it is an act of worship for 3rd parties to try their best to reconcile the matters and unite the hearts of the Muslims. 3rd parties should not be by-standers to a conflict; and it is certainly not the character of a righteous Muslim to take pleasure in such conflicts. Again, Muslims need to get involved when two Muslims break a relationship with each other and actively get involved to repair that relationship.

Islamic Reminders October Monthly Topic: Relationships A man follows the religion of his friend; so each one should consider whom he makes his friend (Abu Daw...ud) In this hadith, the Prophet pbuh mentions to us and tells us to consider very deeply into whom we take as friends. This is significant, because as the hadith mentions, we end up becoming the juice or the mix of whom we befriend. Thus, if we befriend a conservative group of friends, then we most likely will become conservative ourselves. If we befriend a liberal group, then we most likely will become liberals ourselves. As Muslims looking forward to pleasing Allah swt with our actions, beliefs, and emotions, we want to make sure that we pick the perfect and most fitting friends who bring us closer and closer to Allah swt.
