We want to make sure you have the peace of mind knowing that the Municipality has inspected your deck and it fully meets the National Building Code, as well as Municipal zoning by-laws. And this then eliminates any conflicts with current or future neighbours, as well as the re-sell of your own home. With every deck, we take care of preparing the construction drawings, building permit application, and arranging all necessary inspections at the proper time.

"Features and Benefits of a MacLeod Carpentry Deck" - Ventilating Skirt I always insist on ventilation of the lower skirt perimeter, as do some decking manufacturers. Whether that be by way of a decorative panel, or spaced vertical boards, it's important to keep the under structure as dry as possible. And so that you don't end up seeing the light colour wood from showing through....we always paint the exposed structure black, as noted in the images below.

We do offer mono colour tones to satisfy the tighter budgets, but the majority of the boards we offer provide deep colour variations and unique textures....for a more authentic real-wood look and feel. These boards are not manufactured on a repetitive run, but on a larger scale production run, so that each board will look distinctive. We can make your deck stand out from the rest.

We are proud of our latest deck build....on Equinelle Drive overlooking the 3rd Fairway. A two tier deck of 500 sq.ft. of comfortable outdoor living. Here we used TimberTech's Azek Brownstone composite, and an accent colour of Azek English Walnut. We once again used the TimberTech Impressions railing system, but with something new.....a matching composite drink top rail. The future gardens are already to be lit up with the low voltage LED lighting around the perimeter, as well as stair lighting for safety and ambience.

Sometimes they are not decks, but grand entrances into lower outdoor living spaces! Recently completed on Equinelle Drive, this rear exit onto their large stone patio. We used a combination of Azek 'Coastline' and 'Dark Hickory' from TimberTech. Just waiting on the glass now.

Recently completed deck on Equinelle Drive. It doesn't have to be large to be eloquent. With the use of two tone colours, you can create a unique flare that compliments the house and surrounding stonework. Here we used TimberTech's Azek 'Slate Gray' and 'Dark Hickory composites and topped it off with the bronze Impressions glass railing system....new this year. Note the the much wider stair tread. This is possible with Azek's 7 1/4" wide boards, which makes for a safer and comfortable descend.

A deck we completed some weeks ago, now with a fully sodded lot on Kindred Cres. This is 500 sq.ft. of deck using TimberTech's Azek 'Slate Gray' composite. Special features include decorative privacy screens, LED lighting in the stairs, neo angle layout with diagonally run boards, for an appealing affect.

We are proud to have reached substantial completion on the Blackhorse Drive deck build. We are just waiting on a couple of railing sections and the custom glass inserts. We have had our share of heat and mud to work through. Much thanks to Linda and Matt! This is a 30' x 16' one tier deck with an elegant recessed staircase....overlooking the Equinelle Golf Course. Using a combination of two colour tones, we were able to add some unique lines and borders to the top surface an...d skirting below. The composite is TimberTech [Azek] 'Slate Gray' and 'Island Oak', and the railing is also by TimberTech using 'Impressions Express' aluminum. As a registered Gold TimberTech contractor and because this deck is using all three of TimberTech's decking products [composite, fasteners and railings]....the homeowners will receive a full 7 year labour replacement warranty, along with their 50 year material warranty [an industry best]. "Completed Equinelle Basement Project from last winter" My clients were kind enough to invite me to photograph their basement, with their beautiful furnishings and decor now complete. You did a great job guys!

Difficult Day! Even though we worked around two downpours, the tarping and untarping of tools, 2" of mud on our boots, slipping and sliding, tripping circuit breakers, wet extension cords, extreme heat.....we managed to finish the recessed staircase on our Blackhorse deck build today. Including the LED lighting.

A deck build from last year on Kindred Cres....that was recently landscaped with a new patio and gardens. Great job guys! This deck's composite material was TimberTech, using a combination of 'Tigerwood' and Azek 'Weather Teak'.

"Updated my own deck" Because I use my own deck as my showroom, I decided to upgrade some of the materials....to better reflect today's product lines. I installed a 5' high matching, composite board - privacy screen; swapped out the vertical skirting boards; changed the colour tone from browns to gray, which better suits the house colours; updated to a black TimberTech glass railing system; and removed the second deck trim board and installed an accent coloured inlay. ... The stone patio was courtesy of Mike & Gen from Intricate Interlock.

"Attention to Detail" I never finish the perimeter deck edge with a simple fascia board attached to the end cuts of deck boards. As shown on this Royal Landing Gate deck build, I always trim the four sides of a deck with a picture like frame....including a 1" bull nose. Then of course we have a header fascia board under this, but with a second smaller fascia trim for a more elegant finish and detail. ... This requires a lot of extra backing in the sub-structure to support this, but well worth it I believe.

"Attention to Detail" The Kindred Cres deck build is now complete. More photos will follow once sod and furniture has been placed. Because this client choose an Azek composite material by TimberTech....you will not find a single screw anywhere in the deck. All fasteners are hidden, including the steps and trim boards. This is not possible with any other composite on the market today! Notice the width of these stair treads - a full 18 1/4", making for a very comfortable and safe step down. And of course, low voltage lighting finishes it off nicely!

"Attention to Detail" Before enclosing the underside of your deck with vented skirting, we always paint the exposed structure material black....so as not to show through.

With the railing and privacy screen now complete on the Kindred Deck Build....all that remains are the steps, skirting and lighting. Because this lower deck is 32' long, note how I eliminated all joints, with the use of a divisional trim board across the middle. And of course there are zero fasteners showing with use of TimberTech's unique system of securing each and every board invisibly.

"Just completed" A beautiful 300 sq.ft. two tone deck on Kindred Ave. The subtle earth tone colours are from the TimberTech Azek product line, using "Brownstone" and "Autumn Chestnut" composites. A taupe aluminum baluster railing and matching stairs leads up to the BBQ section and entrance into the house. I am looking forward to seeing the finished garden around the deck that the clients have already undertaken. :)

Top Composite is on! Things are progressing nicely at the Kindred deck build. So much so, my excited clients just can't stay off of it. This is the first time I have used the new wider board [7 1/4"] for the outside framework.....and loving it. For those wondering, this is the TimberTech Azek "Slate Gray" composite, from the Harvest Collection. Beautiful soft earth tone colour, and cool to the touch! It does not hold the heat that other products do. Just ask....and I will be sure to drop you off a 70 page TimberTech brochure to your doorstep.

We are well underway with another deck build, and because it is on an inside corner lot, you can view it's daily progress from the side street [517 Kindred Cres]. The structure will be completed and inspected on Monday, and shortly thereafter we will start installing the high end TimberTech composite decking material. This is a 530 sq.ft. neo-angle two tier deck, consisting of railings on the upper tier, lighting, and decorative privacy screening on the back portion. Recently Finished Basement on Equinelle Drive This beautiful project consisted of a very large rec-room with an open office space, a bedroom, and 3 pc bathroom. The attractive flooring is 100% waterproof 'vinyl plank'....which is fairly new on the market.

My Own Finished Basement....con't This is the bathroom I built for my own basement. Finished with a bright white vanity; granite top with a black glass vessel sink; heated ceramic floor; frameless glass shower door; wall to wall decorative porcelain tile; shower panel; and trimmed with oil rubbed bronze hardware.

"Finished Basement - my house" I started this basement project over a year ago, and I am now nearing completion. My clients comes first, so I had to exercise great patience with it's lack of progress. :) I will forward more photos in the spring once all the decorating is complete. This is the main rec room, complete with a gas fireplace, custom entertainment cabinet with light valance, cultured stonework; barnwood flooring; and double sliding stressed-metal doors into the bedroom.
